Sharon was educated in the Baltimore City Public School system and graduated from Paul Laurence Dunbar Senior High School. Sharon later married her husband, Sylvester "Yogi" Jones in the summer of 1972. Sharon worked within the Baltimore City Public School system as an administrative. She was called home after a lengthy illness.

The funeral day went as planned with no mishaps. The music was what we picked out. Our loved one looked well and the attendants were very helpful and consoling. There is only one thing that I cannot honestly be quiet about. My step dad passed on a Thursday so On Friday afternoon I took my mom to her 3:00 appointment to make her final arrangements with Calvin Funeral Home. We had an appointment with Jarred who greeted us in shorts, black socks and a hoodie. No shoes. I was shocked. I still am. Had my mother been in better condition, I would have demanded she take her business somewhere
