We maintain an open door policy in our office. Services
The wearing of retainers is an extremely important part of orthodontic treatment. Retainers are worn after the braces are removed to help hold the teeth stable while the gums and bone adapts. The retainers can removable or bonded to the teeth. Further the removable retainer can be of clear plastic or may need to be of a wire and plastic design.
Is it difficult for you to take time off work to bring your children to the office for appointments? Is it difficult for your child to be absent 1-1/2 hours from school for a short appointment? Our fully equipped mobile office regularly visits the following schools for those short appointments. If you would like to have your child's appointments scheduled on the "bus" please call or let us know at your next office appointment.
Full or limited treatment may also be advised by your family dentist to help in restoring missing teeth. This can involve a team approach with other dental specialists. With recent improvements in technology, adults say that the treatment turned out to be much easier than they thought it would. Often times adults report their friends do not even notice that they are having treatment done.
A partnership between the orthodontist and the patient is required for orthodontic treatment to reach a successful conclusion. Tokens (wooden nickels) are awarded to help/reward those who actively engage in this participation. There is a curio cabinet in the office that contains a number of items that are available.
I found it very rewarding to be able to help a child improve their self confidence by helping them have a good first experience, whether it was getting their teeth cleaned or having a cavity restored. I also had the opportunity to work with an orthodontist, which intensified my desire to provide additional ways to positively influence a person's facial appearance and their self confidence.
