The mission of Big Kids Child Care is to provide a child care program for school-aged children dedicated to offering best practice in all aspects that affect a child. We aim to provide opportunities for school-aged children to learn and grow socially, emotionally, physically, and academically - all in the comforts of a home environment.

Services
My name is Sara Chatterjea and I have been working with children and families for over 25 years including almost 13 years as a licensed family child care provider. Big Kids Child Care is a culmination of my many years in the child care field observing and experiencing first-hand the support and outlets for play that children need in order to develop into well-adjusted, happy, and productive citizens and life-long learners.
Big Kids currently provides before school care and after school child care (learn more here) and full days of care for school-aged children on non-school days (learn more here). Our school-aged children enjoy indoor and outdoor play spaces designed around the unique needs and interests of school-aged children.
Big Kids provides before and after school care, as well as full day care for school-aged children. For the 2021-2022 school we, we will provide before and after school care for children from school districts #114 (Fox Lake), #37 (Gavin) and #38 (Big Hollow). Bus transportation is used for children attending school in-district (Fox Lake).
Big Kids is a unique child care program where your child can spend their summer in a home setting with both indoor and outdoor fun, while also enjoying a summer full of fun field trips and activities away from the home! Big Kids provides care over the summer for children from Lake and McHenry counties although children enrolled in the program for before/after school care enjoy priority for spots in the program for the summer.

My son started with Ms. Sara when he was 3 months old and he stayed with her until he started kindergarten. I balled my eyes out on his last day with Ms. Sara. We had such a wonderful experience with her. She… is a phenomenal teacher that goes above and beyond day in and day out. I can't say enough about her awesome program. If you have not had the chance yet, I would recommend checking it out!

My kids have been with Ms. Sara since they turned one. They are now 5 & 6 and I will continue to utilize her services as I am able to. She has an exceptional program that far exceeds my expectations! No other program has the same offering as hers. I have seen both my children excel and she never disappoints! My kids tell me all the time how they love Ms. Sara. She has become their second mom and has opened her heart and her home to all the children in her care.

If I could give higher than a 5, I would. We love Ms. Sara and her child care program. I felt absolutely at ease leaving my child in her care knowing he would be getting the best care and a solid educational foundation (which as a teacher, is extremely important to me). Leaving my son with Sara was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

I used Sara for after school care and the only reason we left was because we moved(we lived 2 doors down). If she was in Antioch I wouldn't think for a second not to use her. My daughter had so much fun with the after school kids and had a blast for the entire summer there. Sara is amazing with the kids and really isn't paid enough lol! My son didn… 't go there, but loved to spend evenings with her son when we had nothing planned. For a home daycare, I have never seen one ran the way she runs it. Unfortunately I can not give this 10 stars or I would!

I had such a great experience with my 4 yr old daughter under Miss Sara's care. Her curriculum and personal teaching style along with her dedication is just what every parent wants for their child. We are looking forward to getting back with her for her before and after school care program once my daughter begins kindergarden.
