As a verified member of the Fair Trade Federation, we partner with artisan groups worldwide that are committed to creating opportunities for women to advance and thrive.

Sseko was started to enable high potential, talented young women in Uganda to continue on to university. These young women work for Sseko in the nine-month gap between secondary school and university, saving part of their income for university. They receive life skills training, are paired with professional mentors and get valuable formal work experience.
Sseko began as a way to generate income for high potential, talented young women in Uganda to continue on to university. Work, work, work! Sseko grew and grew, becoming the largest footwear exporter in East Africa and growing the number of scholarships we can provide. Sseko Designs appeared on NBC's Shark Tank and the world fell in love with our versatile strappy Ribbon Sandals, little did they know, Sseko produces so much more!.

Sseko Designs was founded under a mango tree in Uganda. Late nights of tinkering on sandal designs and dreaming about a brighter future were fueled by Ugandan coffee - the most delicious coffee we'd ever tasted. We've always been about bringing people together to create community and opportunity for women all over the world, first with fashion and now with incredible coffee from regions we've come to know and love.
