The State of New Hampshire has implemented a quarantine of out-of-state firewood to control the spread of invasive forest pests. The NH Forest Protection Bureau prohibits campers from bringing firewood with them from out of state due to the possibility of transporting invasive wood boring insects into or within the State.
These insects are becoming a serious threat to NH forests. We are a NH Campground Owner's Association (NEHACA) Approved Campground, a Member of the Meredith Chamber of Commerce and the Lakes Region Tourism Association, Trip Advisor Recommended, Good Sam's Recommended, Google Recommended, and a Mobile RVing Preferred Property.

Pros:
Awesome camp site in the woods with enough room for our tent and car and some privacy from our neighbors.
Close proximity to Weirs beach/boardwalk, some bars, restaurants and a Hammafords grocery store.
Amazing amenities - cell service was strong throughout the campground and the bathrooms/showers were super clean and comfortable with hot water.
Cons:
The speed limit is like 5mph throughout the campground. There are a lot of kids running around so this makes sense but 5mph is torturously slow especially if your site is at the very back.
You need to put down a $5 deposit for the gate

It is had been 30 or so years since I had last camped here and I was pleasantly surprised. Clean and well kept camp area in a convenient location. Prices are fair given the pool and amenities on site. If you are in need of an item or two..... Or just forgot your coffee maker the store is there also. I would recommend it if you are planning on camping in the area.

The two of us and our 5 year old girl had INITIALLY made reservations at a local campsite named Adventure Bound (NOT Harbor Hill), as it seemed family friendly online. Boy, were we wrong - we pulled in and there were dozens of kids on bikes weaving all around the roads and sites, 5 cars per site, sites RIGHT on top of each other, loud music at each one, hundreds and I mean hundreds of people just walking around. It was nuts. We looked at each other and said NOPE. Didn't even get out of the truck. We complained about the noise and were offered another site at the edge of the campground

We booked a yurt a month ago and yesterday (a week before our trip) they cancelled our weekend because of bike week. They don't allow children during bike week. This should have been known when we were booking, we told them we have two kids upfront. The woman who called to cancel my reservation didn't even seem like she cared, just wanted to give me a refund and get off the phone with me. When I asked to speak with the manager Jennifer.. I was told that she's on vacation and they have no idea when she's coming back. No one in management has reached out to me.

You can usually tell how your experience is going to go by how you are treated when you make the reservation. I inquired as to whether there was availability on August 3rd. I received an email from Angela on Aug. 4th indicating they had one site available and let them know if I wanted to book it. I emailed back, immediately saying yes I wanted the site. No response. I called and got no answer. I shrugged and said, "well, they have had some negative responses as of late, but they still have a 4.7 rating. They must have their stuff together, so I'll just wait for a response and consider

This place literally made us SICK! We stayed there about three weeks ago and the sewer smell was so bad that it actually set off the CO2 detector in our camper and made us physically ill (including our small dog). We reported the problem to the office, they sent someone up who said it was a "loose connection" a few sites up from us and he "stuffed a rag" in it to fix the problem. After a few more hours, we were still feeling sick and the smell was still heavy. The methane was so bad, it permeated all of our clothes as well.
A couple that was across from us told us they

We've been camping at Harbor Hill for a dozen years and keep going back. It is beautiful, quiet and convenient to what the area has to offer. When we first camped in Meredith, we found a campground we were very uncomfortable in so we drove to others in the area and Harbor Hill is one of the best. Once we camped there, we felt no need to go elsewhere.

Surprised by the other reviews, clean, decent facility and plenty of extras for kids and families. Nice shaded sites (decent sized) which helped keep cool. Friendly staff and good wifi. Only suggestion charge an extra $1 and loose the quarter machine for showers (kind of goofy and makes a real nice campground look cheap). Overall 4 stars and we will be back.

The owner's "response" is a load of bull. He is just making up a story, I didn't even see this person there. If he spent as much time speaking to me man to man instead of writing dumb responses on the internet, he would have won a satisfied customer and made some money. Instead he just continues to spread bad impressions of the business. Seems like the owners might be mentally ill.

I don't know what the situation was with other reviewers of this campground. I was not there for whatever caused their negative review.
I arrived at this campground for bike week 2015., with no family. Staff could not have been more professional and friendly, this is a family run operation and is well run. The area is kept spotless. I did not use any of the facilities except the laundry area which was also spotless.
The owners son assisted me with an issue I had with my trailer and was a fine polite young man.
Bottom line: if your unhappy here your unhappy everywhere ...

This was our first time staying at Harbor Hill. We had reserved our site well in advance, and I'm happy that we did. The campground was booked for the 4th of July holiday weekend.
I found myself on Yelp and becoming apprehensive about our stay after reading some of the reviews.
That apprehension was for naught!!
We had a blast Everyone that we had contact with was phenomenal!! I can't thank the staff and owners enough.
The park was clean and staff very pleasant to deal with, even on a packed holiday weekend.
I look forward to another stay!!

I wish the owner took the same care in responding to emails and phone calls than commenting on bad reviews on yelp (sadly pretty much all of them). Yes, he did respond once (as indicated) in a way that did not help me at all. I replied inquiring on what alternatives I had, but apparently if you are not willing to pay on for three nights, you are not worthy of a response...

I have been camping here for years and until this year would have given 5 stars, but the new owners, especially Melissa, have a lot to learn about hosting. This is the first time they've ever done anything like this and are struggling to learn the ropes as the previous owner who was going to help them has passed. Melissa was a school teacher and needs to switch to working with adults as a host. That said, this is a beautiful campground with good facilities and great maintenance. I plan to continue camping here and hope to see the new owners grow into their role as hosts. This is still one

I agree with the other reviewer on the 0 stars. The owners came around and informed me that they "run a tight ship" and then counted to three before they would call the cops on us if we didn't leave. Seriously, counted to three... We had an extra person on site (so our bad). I offered to pay the extra $10 and we were told there wasn't an option. The guy is actually pretty pleasant by himself, but don't get on the ladies bad side or look out... Don't say I didn't warn you. I've never had a worse experience.
