After over 50 years of practicing law, I still remember my first class action lawsuit for the civil rights of women and persons of color. Even though I had just graduated from the University of Michigan Law School, I knew that I wanted to dedicate my career to civil rights in the workplace and stop businesses from cheating employees.
There's nothing more gratifying to me than solving a big messy puzzle with lots of pieces. Clients come to us with some of the most difficult problems in life. To be entrusted with representing them and trying to solve whatever they bring to us is an awesome and humbling responsibility. Placing that final piece to reveal the entire picture is what drew me to this profession.
No different than most kids, I dreamt of being a hero as a child-and there was no bigger hero in my life than my father. He often told us stories about the people who were relying on him to resolve their tragedies; I always knew that was the kind of person I wanted to be. After earning my law degree from the University of Dayton in 1991, I joined the firm and began helping those who had been harmed with no place to go for justice.
After graduating from Case Western Reserve University Law School in 1996, I first worked for the Erie County Prosecutor's Office before joining Murray & Murray. I work to be an advocate for my clients and help them in the best and most meaningful way possible. Presenting a case to the court and having the clients understand just how much we care about their very personal and individual claims is very important to me.
