Darling Eye Center

I had my first visit to Darling today, and was very happy with the service I received! When it came time to choose my eyeglasses. Laura was so helpful! She explained why certain glasses look better on me than others and provided plenty of choices! I appreciated her knowledge and patience with me!

We have been using Darling Eye Center since moving to Bluffton 7 years ago and are very pleased. They are very friendly, helpful and carry a large selection of frames for men and women plus many different options on lenses of all price points. We recently completed this year’s exams and Laura has been great to work with in meeting our needs for new glasses.

Yesterday my daughter had her first eye appointment so I was a little worried because her dad took her and not me, but everyone from start to finish made it such an easy experience. Both Olivia and her dad came home raving about there appointment. It's always appreciated when the staff takes extra time to make a kid feel at ease with them and Olivia had so many good things to say about her visit, I almost couldn't believe this was a doctors appointment. Thank you so much for making this a great experience for my little one!

I recently decided to change ophthalmologists and, upon the recommendation of a friend, I made an appointment with Dr. Darling. I am very pleased with the visit I had. Her bedside manner is fantastic. She is personable, kind and funny, which caused me to feel comfortable right away. She listened to my concerns, which were passed over with my previous ophthalmologist, and it turns out that my gut feeling about what was going on was right. As someone who started wearing glasses well into my adult life, I had a lot to learn. What a great office this is across the board and Gabrielle is the icing on the cake. She is knowledgeable and very helpful in my frame decisions.

I called this morning and an extremely lovely voice welcomed me. Diane told her of my broken glasses plight ( we are from Rhode Island and here we are I. Hilton Head). She told me to come in and she'd fit me in. Did so with great speed and alacrity and I emerged within 15 minutes. Spectacular services

I gave this facility two stars because Dr.Darling and the professional staff that are the optometrists are great and have always done a great job of taking care of my eyes and vision the past few years. However having that said the front desk has been extremely rude to me on multiple occasions and always have an attitude over the phone when trying to discuss payments, insurance and my vision details. Always seem unhappy to answer the phone and make you feel uneducated when asking any type of question. It's unfortunate that a great place risks its reputation and long term customers because

I love this place! I moved here from Colorado and coming to Darling Eye Center made me feel like I was at my home office. They are all very friendly and I love the selections of glasses and contacts! My eye appointment didn't feel rushed, they took their time with me to make sure I was leaving satisfied. Now that's great customer service! I've already recommended them to my friends and family! I had my first eye appointment at the Bluffton location, and everyone was amazing! A crazy thunderstorm came through town, the building lost power for a second or two, but they just went with the flow. They were patient with me and very attentive. I just went back today to pick out my glasses today, and they truly make you feel so comfortable there. I highly recommend them!

I was on vacation in Hilton Head Island with my family back in August of 2018, I lost my glasses while wading in the water as my nephew swam and played when a big wave knocked me over. I had a 4 hour drive home that very day and made an appointment with them and they were very courteous and helped me, even though it was near closing time; and gave me a trail pair of contacts until I could get home and order more.The wait time was no where near what it is here at my home eye doctors, and the staff was very professional. If I stayed in the area I would definitely go there as a regular.

I was on vacation here in Hilton Head and of course I lost my glasses in the ocean!! Called around and everyone was either booked or overpriced. The ladies at Darling supplies me with cheap contact lenses right away so I could continue to enjoy my vacation! Awesome!!

My wife and I could not be happier with Dr. Darling and her staff. From the minute we walked in, we were made to feel welcome. The interior and attitude strays from the typical, cold medical establishment, and veers towards a warm, comfortable atmosphere. They offer a good selection of frames that we get extra money off with our insurance (VSP) and were honest with us about our options (what was necessary, what was a stylistic upgrade). We also liked the option of being able to put a deposit down on the glasses instead of having to pay for it all up front. We will definitely be coming back here

Dr. Darling has made an incredible difference in my life! I had Radial Kerototomy back in the 80's, so my corneas are damaged. I didn't really understand what was happening and thought I was losing my vision. I could not get a pair of glasses that really helped. Not only did she give me a prescription for glasses that work, but she also fitted me for soft contacts. I can't even tell you what this has meant for me. She is super smart and super kind, and her whole staff is just wonderful. I highly recommend!!!

Thank you Diane and the rest of the staff at Darling Eye Center! We are in the island for a week-long vacation, and my daughter forgot her contact lenses and eyeglasses at home. They accommodated us without a fuss and supplied us with the contact lenses.
