The Spencers, a deep rooted Texas family decided to spice it up and head out West, leaving family behind to pursue a fresh new start in fabulous Las Vegas, NV. The Mojave desert was home, Las Vegas was a great new place to live. One thing was evident, tattoos were becoming very popular out west. Our families' love of art began to lead us in a different direction.

Hello to those reading this bio, my name is Joshua! Im originally from Las Vegas, Nevada! I have been tattooing full time for almost twelve years. I don't have one particular style and I have worked hard throughout my career to be a well rounded artist that can tackle any challenge from something simple to something more complex.
I am a co-owner/ tattoo artist at Studio 21 Tattoo in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada. The business is owned by the Spencer family, which includes my wife, Becki, son, Austin and daughter, Courtney. I began tattooing in 1999 after finishing a very long career in Civil Engineering/Land Surveying. I was always an artist at heart, but got side tracked making a living to support the family for many years.
Express to your artist exactly what your ideal placement and size of your new tattoo will be. Help them understand what your concept means to you, where you want it and consider their advise and expertise from a tattoo artists point of view. If you are not comfortable with an artist, you may transfer your deposit to one who better fits your project and direction.

The studio and Jose are simply amazing! My husband and I have been coming to the studio, and more specifically, to Jose for 3 years. We make sure to schedule our vacation around our tattoos, because Jose is just that good. He is a brilliant artist that takes time to get to know his clients and creates the piece around you. He is quick and thorough and we would never allow another artist to tattoo us.
I have read a few reviews that thought the prices were too high...all I can say is that you get what you pay for.

The staff was fantastic. Ashley was a great help in scheduling our appointment. And Adam did a great job on the matching tattoos me and my husband had done (i.e., matching M & M candies). It was my first tattoo (and probably my one and only) so I was pretty nervous about it, but Adam was very helpful in easing my nerves.

Another amazing piece of work from this shop, I've had 2 visits with Alex Moreno to complete a wrap around piece on my lower leg. Gave him some reference photos and layout ideas. He adjusted the design to fit the space I had and I'm really happy with it. He (along with everyone else in the shop) is personable, friendly and accommodating. Already looking forward to booking another piece in the coming months.

I found this shop online, highly recommended. One of the top 3 shops in the Vegas Valley. Great shop ! Very clean and had an art gallery vibe to it! Went in for a consultation and made my appointment. The receptionist followed up with me multiple times, getting my images and what exactly I wanted done. Even called 2 days before to remind me. The day of the appointment everything was perfect! Ryan had the artwork already drawn up ready to go. Ryan was super professional and great artist to get the work done with. Very happy with my tattoo, the price and the whole experience. Will definitely go back

Wow!!!! I am supremely picky about my tattoo artists (as one should be!) so when I stumbled upon reviews for this parlor I was pretty stoked. My bestie and I went in for matching tattoos and I am officially planning to go back for another. Not only were Ashley & Vanessa AMAZE-BALLS at reception, but Josh Sutcliff has outstanding skills. Popped in without an appointment and they took great care of me. Receptionist was very friendly and checked with the artists to see if any were available for a couple hour tattoo. Jake was available and quoted me a far price and said he had the time. The space was exceptionally clean and comfortable and we began the session quickly after he got set up and was ready. Jake had a very professional yet relaxed, patient and friendly demeanor. He also had a great movie playing in his space that allowed for friendly conversation that made the time go by.

I was referred to Das Frank by a long term friend. I was in need of a tattoo artist to do an aesthetic cover up on a disfigurement I have disliked for a long time. Given the high praise my friend gave for Das Frank's artwork I was disappointed when he blew me off and didn't help me with coming up with a design I would like for that unusual part of my body. He basically told me I would have to figure out what I wanted on my own and that he would then tattoo what I picked. So if you're looking for an artist to collaborate with, he may not be your guy. I thought it would be the perfect place to get a tattoo in the most spectacular city in the U.S. Las Vegas! I checked out quite a few tattoo businesses, read hundreds of reviews and ended up choosing Studio 21! I communicated with Ashley and Staysi, they were wonderful. My tattoo is amazing and I am so happy with the end result. I don't mind paying more for a tattoo as it's such a permanent thing to have on you it's worth getting a quality tattoo artist and care.
However there were a few issues with customer service that really dampened my experience. Personally I feel if you're paying a lot of money for a tattoo that the entire experience should reflect what you're paying.

The overall experience was friendly and a very nice environment. I did have a major issue with their pricing, I only got a basic outline of a flower with some lettering for my family and it was 300 dollars. This tattoo lasted 15 minutes quoted from the artist and was not even their sketch (my sister sketched it from an idea and they just printed it, no editing). Alongside this, at the end of the session, they wrapped it in basic plastic wrap with tape and charged me 300.

Definitely my go to shop in town now. I was lucky enough to be tattood by Frank and Austin who are both great. The place is super clean and everyone is really friendly (and talented). The girls are the front are also great and super accommodating. All of the artwork on their merch is really cool as well, I picked up some stickers cause they were out of the shirt I wanted in my size.

Found the shop on Yelp after months of reviewing different places. Was impressed with the art and the response time after inquiry. Ashley communicated clearly with me about how to book my appointment, cost estimate, and size I would need. When I arrived, Jake had three sizes prepared for me. JOSÉ IS EVERYTHINGGGGG! I can not stress enough how much I recommend him. I decided to start a sleeve and I am so glad I decided to look more into Studio 21, but more importantly am so glad I stumbled upon José. He is very professional and ensures that what you want is what you will get and I appreciated that more than anything. We've been trying to find a way to honor our dads passings. Today we decided tattoos would be good. We walked in and Josh had a cancellation so it was great timing for us. We were both very impressed. The lady at the counter was.... Stacy, I think! Anyways she was super sweet. She helped us to find a font and took our dates down. My husband had in mind what he wanted. We dropped in without an appointment knowing slim shot at getting his tat that day. Lucky for us. Jose happened to be available. He's the absolute best.

After shopping around I got to Studio 21 Tattoo because of the great Yelp reviews. Jake was my artist. This guy is a heavy weight talent! not only he is talented and skilled, he is so patient and courteous. I did a few changes to the sketch, actually a couple of changes after he started, and he had no problem redrawing and readjusting to how I wanted it.
I am very happy with the final result and highly recommend Studio 21 Tattoo and highly recommend Jake.

This company is first class in my opinion. My daughter and i checked about 4 other places before deciding on Studio 21 for our tattoos. We got mother daughter tattoos our artist showed us 3 different sizes took time to give his opinion on the tattoo. Very professional yet down to earth cutting it up during the process. The entire experience was amazing from the people at the front desk to the artist themselves were all very nice people. The work was just amazing we will cherish these tattoos forever! Our daughter turned 18 and wanted to cover up a small area on her hand, where she placed a small cherry tattoo that she had made, on her own, with a blue pen as a young teenager. She also had a small tattoo that she did herself on her inner right ankle and wanted that covered up too.
