Farmington was originally inhabited by the Tunxis Indian tribe. In 1640, a community of English immigrants was established by residents of Hartford, making Farmington the oldest inland settlement west of the Connecticut River and the twelfth oldest communities in the state. Settlers found the area ideal because of its rich soil, location along the floodplain of the Farmington River, and valley geography.
Newington has a history of nearly 375 years. While not established officially as a separate town until 1871, settlers from nearby Wethersfield took up residence on the western frontier of their riverside town in 1636. Dr. Jenkins received his Bachelor Arts Biology degree from the University of Bridgeport in 1980.

Overall, the exam went very well. The staff was ready for me exactly at the appointment time. I was taken in directly after completing the paperwork. The Optomax exam went very well and I didn’t have to repeat it several times. After I was brought to the exam room Dr Jenkins came in immediately. Dr Jenkins is one of the kindest and most caring individuals I have ever met. It was clear that my health was his utmost concern. Overall my visit was one of the best healthcare experiences I have ever had. Thank you.

Their contact lens fitting is an additional $85 fee. I am accustomed to a lens fitting fee, typically not covered by insurance, but at several previous offices I have visited, the fee is 35-50 dollars. I learned that I need to ask in advance in the future! I would say that you pay for convenience being in the mall, but...
-I don't even know what happened during my vision testing. It was not done by the optometrist but rather 3 of the assistants from the front desk (1 of them was in training). The optometrist was checking (??) it, and then told me he had to step out for a moment while

Let me preface this statement by saying I've been going here for many years, so I've had many an experience to draw upon. The HIPAA violations are numerous, and the distasteful way the desk staff talk about patients when they don't think we are listening are disgusting. 1 out of every 2 visits are fraught with error in both contact order and appointment. When they are good, it's because they are actually doing their job, not going above and beyond to exceed your needs. As I sit and listen to unprofessional staff next to their cheap coffee maker - I've hit my ceiling for

Completely incompetent doctors unable to get my prescription for contacts correct (though they haven't shied away from charging me), causing massive pain and leaving me half blind for weeks. First visit was left in a side room with incorrect contacts waiting for a doctor to come check them for over and hour before I left. Regret ever walking into this office. Made a yelp account just because my experience here has been so awful.

Let the extortion begin. Yeah an exam is $95 which is the going rate for people with non insurance but they make up this fake law saying that you need yearly contact lens fittings for an additional $85... called my normal doctor and they were baffled. Furthermore the doctor had a hard time speaking English. For the 10 minutes I was there they wanted $180. NOT happening... go to a usual eye doctor because these people are scam artists. Oh and buy your contacts online because they are a rip off without insurance through a doctor. Never ever ever again will I step foot in a Lenscrafters or Lenscrafter

Top notch service here. This is my go to spot for all things related to my eyesight. I've tried others over the years, and nobody has compared to this facility.
I've received excellent advice, correct and accurate prescriptions, fantastic service and prompt call ins when compared to my appointment times. It's a comfortable office that's updated and well appointed. All staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
I won't go anywhere else for eye examinations. And since they take most insurance plans, it's affordable to boot.
Highly recommended.
