The dancers were amazing and the story was so much fun. Not a lot of money to see a professionally produced show. I highly recommend you and your family see it next holiday season. My 5 yr old daughter has ABSOLUTELY loved her ballet classes so far & is so excited for her next chapter with First State Dance Academy!

FSDA is located in Sussex county, DE, offers dance in a variety of forms for the beginner to pre-professional level (ages 3 and older) or just for anyone who wishes to dance. We have a pre-professional dance company housed at FSDA, DanceCompany-X (Formerly Delaware Dance Alliance).
Our state of the art facilities is equipped with proper flooring and a viewing area and/or cameras so that you may view the students' classes from the lobby and on line (by invite).The studio offers ballet (mostly Vaganova syllabus), pointe, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern, and tap. We also offer professional master classes with guest teachers throughout the year and especially during our summer programs.

All of our instructors have a dance background, some with college and professional experience! Award winning choreography awarded by Delaware Division of the Arts, 2014! Vaganova background- Over 40 years of dance experience, Professional Ballerina with the Empire State Ballet, NY & the Atlanta Ballet, GA.
The Delaware Dance Festival (DDF) is dedicated to promoting the art of dance in Delaware and the surrounding area, by providing performance opportunities for dancers and scholarships for dance students. An annual, three-day event, the DDF typically takes place in late February or early March at the Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Del., and includes dress rehearsals, master classes, scholarship auditions, and a performance.
The National Ballet Competition (NBC) is a multi-day event at Wilmington's Grand Opera House that provides opportunities for dance students from all over the U.S. and the world to compete. The panel of judges, all distinguished artists and leaders in the dance world, also conduct master classes for the competitors.
Because your child deserves the best! We offer every child opportunities to grow, to learn, to see the world! There seems to be a misconception that First State Dance Academy is for the serious or advanced student. This is simply not true. Your child can begin dancing at the age of 3. Please inquire about our fee tuition program for 3 year olds.
