The volunteer, non-profit Friends of Old Maui High School was organized in 2004 to rescue Maui's historic school from years of neglect and deterioration, and restore it to purpose and prominence as an educational and community resource. The Friends partner with business, government and community leaders, Maui High School alumni and preservation specialists, carrying out their mission to restore, revitalize and re-use the abandoned school.

The Friends' board members work to build support, secure funding and promote community involvement, facilitating programs to bring about a rebirth of this important Maui landmark. The Friends of the Old Maui High School invite you to join them in their goal to restore the historic school which gave inspiration to thousands of students, bringing social, economic and cultural benefits to our county, state and nation.

Very cool, untold history. This was a very progressive and unusual school for it's time and place. Friends of Old Maui High is a non-profit group working on preserving the historic structures and grounds. Hopefully someday it will be an educational attraction for locals and visitors alike
