Turning, Inc. is a Minnesota corporation, founded in 1980 by Mark and Kristin Kooiker and two other machinists. Blending their backgrounds from the engineering and machining disciplines, they soon built a reputation for innovation and dependability among their small but happy customer base.
Though the partners left after a short time, Mark and Kris worked hard to maintain the level of excellence and customer satisfaction that has always been our goal.Scott Maurer joined the team in 1984 as the lead man in the milling department. To this day, he is a valued, dedicated employee with a wealth of experience as a machinist in prototyping and milling.

Turning, Inc. maintains a stable of CNC lathes and mills, in several sizes and configurations, in order to meet customer expectations on both quality and quantity. While a detailed listing of our equipment can be found below, a few general limits define our current machining capabilities.
For turning operations, dependent upon length and weight, approximately 10 inches in diameter is as large as we can go, and 1/8th of an inch is our current smallest working diameter. For length, anywhere from of an inch (or less!) all the way up to 24 inches is possible, again dependent on part length and weight.
