Services
William H. Gerst was born in 1847, coming from a long line of brewers in the Bavarian region of Germany. A short time later the National Brewing Company was established in 1859 and changed hands several times. In 1890 Christian Moerlein and William Gerst went into partnership to open the Moerlin-Gerst Brewing Company, until Gerst bought out Moerlin and the brewery became William Gerst Brewing Company in 1893.

We have been here multiple times since moving to the area and have absolutely loved it every time. Our favorite things from our visits include, ham balls, schnitzel, beef stroganoff, the bologna sandwich and the smoked pork chop. Our friends from Tennessee have visited us twice since we moved here in October and after taking them the first time, they have said they want to go here every time they visit They also have a great beer selection!!! All of the servers and bartenders have been great as well.

Great spot for dinner! They have German and American food available and tons of beer on tap. The staff was super friendly and fun to be around. We ordered the bacon charbroiled chicken sandwich, kielbase dinner, and fried chicken tenders. They were all delicious! We also ended up ordering a brownie and German chocolate cake. Definitely recommend this spot!

Kids and I wanted to try something new. German food is far outside our “normal”. Family friendly bar and restaurant. Can be a bit loud due to other inebriated diners- DO NOT let that put you off!! The old wooden bench booths and the old hard wood floors are wonderful but pales to the food! The food is absolutely stunning! Our waiter Devon was amazing. He took the time to answer questions, tell us about the dishes, suggest his favorites. All in all we had a fantastic time. Ask for Devon if you visit. Vanilla vodka, pink lemonade and tea- new favorite drink. Stroganoff and bratwurst and sauerkraut

This is a great local German brew haus style restaurant serving some great food, friendly staff and great brew and cider served in an freezer iced fish bowl. We discovered this place while in town for the week on business and are so glad we did. Whether you are a traveler or a local this place is worth your time and your money. Reasonably priced all around and is a short drive from any of the downtown hotels.

This restaurant is full of charisma. My server was helpful and on point. The Wienerschnitzel and sauerkraut were spot on. Throw in the fact that there is a great selection of beers to choose from.... Why wouldn't you want to try this restaurant out? Dont forget to try the Chocolate Cake with ice cream!

We were just thinking to order a pickup but they said they were not available this time, good thing they had some room for us and our waitress was very nice, friendly and efficient… thank you Joseph you really know who to make customers feel happy and comfortable!
We loved the fried pickles, the Goulash but the Stroganoff is the hit! The team was also super friendly and gave us a good service even though they were busy. We usually visit the restaurant… You should try it.

Delicious meal and great service. Highly recommend that everyone get different things and share because the portions are generous. Definitely order typical German food like spaezle, goulash, etc. The German pretzel appetizer was large enough for all 6 of us to share. We were so full that we didn't have room for dessert.
