Susan worked for a large regional firm with offices in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Ginny worked as an Assistant State Attorney, City Attorney for the City of Key West, and in private practice.
In 1997, the partners decided to join forces and establish a law firm that utilized the expertise that Ginny gained in land use and zoning matters during her service as City Attorney, and built upon the broad civil experience that Susan acquired handling commercial and real property matters over the years.In April of 2017, the original partners welcomed Gregory S. Oropeza as the Managing Partner.

Oropeza, Stones & Cardenas' extensive real estate experience includes analyzing and structuring complex deals; coordinating projects of significant scope and complexity; providing strong negotiation throughout the acquisition, disposition, and development process; as well as a range of other real estate matters and transactions.
Ginny Stones has more than 36 years public and private sector experience dealing with land use, zoning and entitlements, including service as the City Attorney for the City of Key West from 1991 to 1994. She represents clients in all phases of development for commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects including contract negotiation, due diligence, land acquisition/disposition, and procurement of land use approvals and entitlements.
With more than 30 years of experience, Susan represents clients in a range of real estate transactions, including financing, leasing, and acquisition and sale transactions. Susan handles most of the residential and commercial real estate closings for the firm.
Her financing experience includes representing borrowers and lenders in mortgage loans, and representing institutional lenders in loan workouts, restructures, short sales, deed-in-lieu transactions, and commercial foreclosures.Susan frequently represents business entities in formation issues, contract disputes, and commercial leasing.
