November means pie-time here at Factory Girl! We're a super-small bakery, and we make all of our pies - crusts and fillings and toppings - 100% from scratch, and with all the love we can squeeze into them. SO -- this means that Thanksgiving pies are limited in quantity!
While we do a great job of prepping everything that can be done in the weeks before, the thing about pies is that they can't be made in advance - the way we do it (fresh and real), pies need to be baked within 24 hours of them going out the door - which means the 36-48 hours before Thanksgiving is MADNESS for us.

Services
But we do need one more person -- we need a front-of-house superstar! Ideally, what we're looking for is someone who can be here Wednesday-Friday 9-2.
That person will help walk-in customers (we're currently not open during these times because we're too busy with all the baking!), answer the phone and take cake orders, manage our calendar and work with our wedding/event clients, keep our retail shop tidy and organized, and help us with the non-baking aspects of running the shop. This means that baking experience is not needed!

Currently, we are open on Sundays 9am-12 for walk-up service with no pre-order necessary. On Sunday mornings, we bake up and sell fresh cinnamon buns, scones, muffins, cupcakes, our from-scratch pop tarts, brownies, and more. The line is sometimes a little nuts at 9am, when things are coming out hot and fresh from the oven, but it usually dies down by about 9:30-10am.
Fresh and delicious is our main focus, but we love making our baked goods as beautiful as they are tasty. We're passionate about our cakes, and we're certain that you can taste that love in everything that we bake. Our cakes are baked to order and while we're at it, we try to bake an extra one or two, but we do bake in small batches and, while our name might be FactoryGirl, this is no cake factory.
In regards to weddings (all things, really), 2020 taught us the power and magic of flexibility, resourcefulness, and a can-do attitude. We went through the heartache with our clients as they rescheduled, and then rescheduled again (and, in many cases, again) the big day that they had been planning for so long.
I can be difficult to reach. I am sorry. During this time as I'm working as a one-woman operation, it's a struggle to do it all, and emails and voicemails usually end up at the bottom of my to-do list; I'm sorry! Best way to get in touch is to call Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday between 11-6 - those are the days I'm here and least freak-out busy.

Kimberly was beyond amazing to work with! Everything was absolutely delicious and everyone raved about how much they enjoyed it. I chose the chocolate stout cake with caramel filling as our main wedding cake and then had some cutting cakes including vanilla which was also good! We had the key lime tartlets and raspberry oat bars so our guests had a variety of options. Kimberly used some blooms from our florist to make the wedding cake come to life in a stunning fashion. We will definitely be going back to this bakery for a visit because we enjoyed everything that much!!

Kim whipped up a coconut cake, carrot cake, 1-tier chocolate stout wedding cake, cream puffs, and canneles for our wedding day. We were so happy with it all. The cream puffs were a crowd pleaser and we barely had any leftovers. Thankfully, we had one slice of our wedding cake left to freeze for our one year anniversary.
Thank you, Kim. You have customers for life.
