Sandy's Blue Hill Cafe
Great coffee - just what you need to start the morning - well-balanced and smooth with a rich aroma and taste. Will definitely order more. From the start, I knew this coffee was truly fresh, as the aroma fresh from the bag to grinder was amazing. Then, once I brewed the pot, I was delighted by the robust flavor.

This coffee is incredible! The coffee at Sandy's Blue Hill Cafe is so good that we had it shipped to us in Denver, Colorado. No better way to start the day! I tried the medium and dark roast coffee from Sandys cafe, and it was absolutely delicious! I normally need to put sugar in my coffee, but this brew was so flavorful that I didn't need to add any sugar at all!
Services
When my husband, Bill, and I moved to the Blue Hill peninsula several years ago, we had a vision of opening a cafe in our small, coastal town that offered great, house-roasted coffee and espresso, fresh-baked goods, downhome food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and craft beers, wines and cocktails.
We're now offering a full line of freshly-prepared, catered meals for parties of six or more. Great for home or office gatherings. Check out our Catering Menu here. Note: A five-day minimum lead time is required for catered meals. Customers are responsible for providing their own paper supplies and utensils.
Scott Cleveland (piano/guitar/voice) and Phil Kell (bass/guitar) will be performing a variety of Cleveland's original searing ballads, sophisticated Rock, R&B in 7/4 time, satirical and celebratory blues and Jazz, plus a carefully chosen array of covers including Elvis Costello, Van Morrison and B.B. King.
Our coffee philosophy is simple: The best-tasting coffee comes from the highest-grade coffee beans, which are custom-blended to create inspiring taste profiles, and are carefully roasted in small batches, ground and brewed within 2 to 14 days of roasting. Our coffees are 100% Arabica beans, with long growing seasons at high geographic elevations to achieve optimal flavor.

I had breakfast here the place was nice and the waiter was nice too. The food was good but a little on the expensive side. Overall I would recommend Sandy's cafe if you want to have a nice time and you aren't tight on money.

Stopped at Sandy's for breakfast while traveling with my husband and dog last week, and now wish we could teleport there regularly. Our server was incredibly accommodating and attentive, and the food was amazing. Best blueberry pancakes I've ever had. Breakfast was so delicious that we decided to purchase a few prepared meals to cover us for dinners at our rental cabin later in the week as well. Sandy took the time to come out to our table (we were eating outside) to let us know what was available - we picked the Thai curry and shepherd's pie, and they did not disappoint. Highly recommend if you

I've only ever had popovers from a place that shall never be named and they are the best popovers I've had. I don't know much about the history of popovers, but had never really heard of them until I spent time in the down east area.

We decided to venture to Blue Hill and the first breakfast place we found was Sandy's.

Upon entering, you are greeted with the question "will you be joining us for breakfast?" Asked by none other than Sandy herself. It was so welcoming! We were seated promptly and I was super excited for the popovers. I only ever have them in this area

Cozy, homey and very welcoming. The smell of baked bread hits you as you walk through the door. Besides bread they make their own muffins, donuts, bagels and even whoppie pies. Our group, two from Michigan and two from NY were treated to Sandy's hospitality and top-notch service. There is an extensive menu with many interesting choices. The avocado flatbread was outstanding; the donuts heavenly and the egg dishes cooked perfectly. We can't wait to go back for lunch.

This cafe is a complete joy from the owners, waiters, location, and most importantly, the food. We've gone every day since arriving in Blue Hill and have enjoyed absolutely everything. The food is very high quality and you can tell it's made with care by skilled hands. We even bought some of the frozen meals to have for dinner since restaurants close a bit early around here. Everyone here is extremely friendly and we've enjoyed their lively personalities and a good chuckle with them all. We will miss Sandy's once we leave and will look forward to our next trip to Maine to visit again!

Brunch at Sandy's was absolutely fantastic. My wife had the quiche with spinach and bacon, and I had the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs, both were outstanding. The lattes were great as well. Service was excellent. Highly recommend.

Food was ok. It wasn't what I was expecting as it didn't fit the description on the menu and was served on a sushi plate so my food kept falling off it. As expected a little higher priced but not worth the money. Felt rather rushed by the waitress as she took my partners plate without waiting for us to finish and wouldn't even let me get a word in edge wise when ordering our food to explain how I wanted something. Basic knowledge of service etiquette needed. Also are coffee refills normally $1.10? Just noticed that on my bill.

Don’t waste your time. It was a beautiful day and we wanted to sit outside. We saw the chalk sign that said outdoor seating on rear patio, but bother that said to check in at the front counter. We waited in line for about 15 minutes while takeout orders were being taken , then asked to be seated outside. We were taken right back to the front door that they refer to as the “porch”. We walked back up to the counter and asked again to be seated outside. The woman who I assume is the owner/manager literally rolled her eyes and told us to “wait a minute”. We waited another yet another 10 minutes

It looked like a nice place to go eat and we thought it was such a great day we asked to be seated outside. They tried to seat us on the enclosed porch which was not what we wanted. Again we asked for outside seating and the hostess, Sandy, was serving a tray of wine and said give her two minutes. We gave her five and she never acknowledged we were even standing right in front of her. Not one person asked if we had been helped or what we wanted. Sandy stated to others she was short handed and to bear with her. The man making coffee ignored us. It's a small place and we were a party of 3

From a New Yorker’s perspective: After eating here I am now convinced everything is better in Maine. You couldn’t ask for a better menu, its surprisingly large, diverse and everything I’ve had tastes homemade. From their coffee and chai, their donuts, their breakfast and lunch menus, I was blown away by every detail they put into their food and service. Michelin star quality and a place that does it all from bagels to cocktails. Its such a lovely vibe indoors and our server, Sam, was super helpful and knowledgable on the menu and local whereabouts and was super personable. I couldn’t begin

Sandy’s is my favorite restaurant in Blue Hill. Quality food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. I had the special, spanakopita, and it was rich and flavorful. Our kids loved the grilled cheese. We enjoyed relaxing on the backyard patio while we ate. Highly recommended.

I've been to Sandy's several times in the past 4 months. My experience is that the service is always friendly and accommodating. There aren't a lot of options in Blue Hill so this place can get quite busy and, due to staffing issues everywhere, there can be waits or staff that aren't completely trained. Everything I have ordered has been tasty and served quickly. There are little niggles - missing place settings, requests for water that never gets served, and odd upcharging on the menu (?) (ie $4 for a substitute side of fruit salad) - but the ambience, the consistently good food and the friendly

Sandy and Bill run a lovely establishment. Stopped in to order breakfast takeout during our 35th anniversary trip to the area. Wonderful egg sandwiches with bacon or ham made on homemade bagels. A homemade donut right out of Homer Price. A Maine blueberry muffin. Topped off by Cafe Au Lait (made by Bill) as good or better than any urban barista. [They roast their own beans!]. Cheerful owner-run business in a lovely venue conveniently located in the center of town. Is there any better asset than a terrific cafe? Thanks Sandy and Bill!

Food was decent, but the owner treated her employees with a briskness that bordered on rudeness. My waitress was perfectly courteous, but the overall atmosphere was dampened by the owner's demeaning attitude.

DEEELIGHTFUL!!! This was one of the best meals we had since arriving in Maine. The bread is homemade by one of the owners each day, and donuts are made to order. Nothing better than a hot fresh donut! We started off with some adult beverages...Nutty Irishman coffee for me and Chai latte hot toddy for my spouse and our dining companion. Each were hot, delicious and loaded with booze. For a starter we all had their New England clam chowder. It's creamy, plenty chunky and served with slices of their scrumptious sourdough baguette that is slathered with butter. We all agreed that soup was pretty

We used to live in Blue Hill and have wonderful memories. We stopped at Sandy's for lunch. It was EXCELLENT!! The staff was attentive, we ate outside, tables were positioned 6 feet apart, and staff wore masks. The food was delicious. I had Toasted Brie and Chicken Cranberry Walnut Salad on a croissant. My daughter had fish and chips. Both were filling and delicious. We WILL eat at Sandy's again.

This was a great find in Blue Hill. The staff and owner are super friendly, and the food was delicious and healthy. The only complaint I have is that there was no changing table in either bathroom (they're coed and one bathroom had plenty of room for one)-- if you're going to be a family friendly restaurant, you really need a diaper changing table. I hope they install one soon so other young parents don't have the same dilemma I did.

We came here for breakfast yesterday. We were greeted warmly and sat immediately out on the patio by who I'm assuming was the owner. He was very kind and took our orders. The restaurant itself was adorable and very clean. Breakfast was delicious- highly recommend the French toast. Beautiful location- will definitely come back again the next time we are here!

This new gem in Blue Hill is full of solid, and interesting yet unfussy food choices. We sat on the sunny and stylish back patio. I asked for a "bucket of coffee" and they obliged with a huuuge mug of dark roasted deliciousness. The mimosas were generously sized and inexpensive. Our girls enjoyed giant chocolate chip and blueberry pancakes and we had avocado flatbread with bacon, sausage and fried egg on top. But best of all was the service. Our waitress Ashley provided everything we needed (hot sauce! High chair! Ketchup!) with kindness. And we even had a chance to chat with Sandy herself

Just opened and a welcome addition to Blue Hill. All the coffee shop favorites plua home made sodas, teas etc. Homemade bagels (yum) and muffins, sandwiches, quiche, soups, salads and a few specials. Bright sunny place with fresh flowers some books on the table and in a bookshelf, free wifi and a young attractive helpful and friendly staff. Indoor and outdoor tables and a bright inviting porch. Order and pay at the counter and they bring you the food which is beautifully presented and very tasty. I wish them well and the community should support them.
