Beautiful selection of furniture . Carries different vendors like Lee and showroom is big and full. Hard to find. Good furniture and decor these days . Worth the ride . Clothing store in one building and restaurant with a fire/ bar and good restaurants( not fried food!)

Six years ago, we spent $3500 for a sofa at Saybrook Country Barn and today we took it to the dump!!! After trying to get assistance from both the store and the manufacturer, we realized they weren't one bit interested in resolving our problem!!! This sofa was the most poorly constructed and least durable piece of furniture I've ever owned!!! Customer service at Saybrook home was absolutely nonexistent!!! I would NEVER go there again!!! The look of the furniture is beautiful, actually using it is a different story:(

I have been to Saybrook Home several times, the first few times to buy clothes. I didn't realize until the last time I went in that they have a ton of other stuff in there too. I ended up also picking up a few things for my mother's birthday with the help of a few of the employees. My mother loved the gifts so much that she made the trip to go back, and now it's her favorite store. Can't recommend highly enough!

This store is GORGEOUS and so unique. Saybrook Home does a great job of diversifying their vendors to curate a one-of-a-kind product mix. I bought two sofas from them and have been extremely satisfied with the quality of my purchase from the customer support to the comfort & design of the product. I just had a lovely experience ordering custom pillows from SH. It was a pleasure working with the staff person, Cheryl. She was extremely knowledgeable and gracious. She took the time to help figure out the most affordable choice, which involved making a fantastic design suggestion I would never have thought of myself. I was really disappointed by this store. My wife and I spent around $15,000 on furniture here including a bedroom set and a mattress and delivery. The overall quality of the furniture is high, except two issues:
1) The mattress is defective. I’m about a foot deeper than my wife in “high-tech version of memory foam” and no matter how much we flip and rotate this king-sized mattress, it’s simply a failed technology. We called them and said that this was not a good mattress and wanted to return it for a “less experimental” mattress and they refused. They sent someone to the house to apparently

Lauri Donovan did a very professional job as a sales associate coming to my home, taking measurements and offering suggestions for two continental double rod sets for draperies and Kirsch Designer metal decorative brackets for our fur hanging. She recommended Vinny and Mike for the installation. They did a superb job. They each have a great deal of patience. The draperies and valences look gorgeous in the master bedroom and the second bedroom. The fur hanging is awesome. I have no hesitation in recommending Saybrook Home and their team for any home furnishing and installation.

We bought a living room set from Saybrook Home last year and love it. Our order was pretty unique and they handled the customization beautifully. Say what you will, but blue velvet on a sofa with modern lines is definitely back in. We've been shopping for new family room furniture for the past year and have visited a bunch of the better stores in the state including Connecticut Home Interiors, Furniture Barn in Cheshire, Middlebury Consignment, Safavieh, etc. This store, however, seemed to have a very different philosophy when it comes to engaging with potential customers. Leave them alone until they approach you. We drove all the way from Fairfield (a good hour) and walked around both buildings taking in all the furniture...no one approached us..no one asked if they could help...45 mins..no contact. It's crazy

This was my first time going to the Saybrook Country Barn apparel shop by the Aspen restaurant. My mom has been her a couple of times never rushing back, but today we were looking for gifts for our friends and felt we would find them here. I don't see myself going back or recommending it. We entered the store that had a couple shoppers and were not greeted once by the multiple employees we encountered. Not one person asked if we needed help or showed interest in our being there. $30.00 because their store policy only has 10day return policy ,after 10days it's store credit only ! We have spent a lot of money here including custom chairs with special order fabric etc etc . Now I refuse to buy anything here 10days is a bad policy , if you live out of town is not enough time, we complained and they said "owners make the decision" and of course theiy aren't available , so my only option is to spread the word nice product but friendly service

There is a good selection of pretty items and ideas but over priced in many ways. If you are a shopper you will be able to distinguish good vs bad prices here. Furniture is high end with high prices, not everything is worth it. Bought a sofa for my part time house and it hasn't been a year and it looks old, not in a good way.

I was driving up to Newport, RI with my girlfriend to get out of the city for a long weekend, and we decided to stop at the Saybrook Country Barn because I have been in the market for a new sofa and rug for my apartment. A rare bastion of beautiful design, Saybrook country barn is a place to be inspired. I could wander for hours just looking for ideas. Everything is the highest quality and the people are knowledgeable. I asked one of the sales people where a couch was made and she pulled out a card from under the cushion that had been signed by all the craftsman in North Carolina who worked on it. It is almost as if each piece has earned its place in the store. I have never found a store that puts such emphasis on quality. Even the delivery people who came to my house knew all about the pieces. Next on my list

I'm writing this review about the Apparel Shop right next door to Aspen Restaurant within Saybrook Country Barn. I had been in the store three times in the last month and every time felt like I was being watched like a hawk by the sales associates. Whenever I turned I felt like all eyes were on me. I'm almost 40 years old and this is one of the first times I've ever felt this way. When I would ask about upcoming sales they were very reserved and snotty as though it was this huge secret. Don't assume that going to a reputable furniture store and spending a significant amount of money comes with a guarantee of customer satisfaction. When my custom ordered chair arrived and the fit and dimensions did not resemble the floor room sample in any way, I never doubted that ultimately I would end up satisfied with my new purchase. Instead when I contacted customer service I was dismissed, insulted, and told to just love the chair I got. I was ultimately left with the choice of having to pay for modifications for a chair that did not resemble what I ordered. I will never return to SCB

There is a nice selection of home interiors and furniture to choose from: some very over-priced and you ponder whether you'd see the same thing across the street at Marshalls as well as many pieces you haven't seen in other stores.

I hate giving local businesses a poor review but after several visits I left less than satisfied. The staff is unappreciative of its customers and does very little to help you. They are also unclear about their policies, including return policies, so be careful! I wanted a store so quaint and homey to be awesome but the staff was so rude, nothing was adorable about the experience. I'll be shopping elsewhere to decorate.
