Great experience with my wedding dress! I would say the pricing is average for bridal tailoring. I was very happy with the results and Lina was so sweet and nice to work with!

I was looking a good tailor close to work in Madison and was recommended this tailor by a co worker. When I asked the owner her rate she said she would have to see the garment and judge for herself what it would cost.

I felt fine with that because the item I had in mind was a dress that just needed the slit closed. A Reformation Dress--pretty simple work if you know the design. When I came to pick up the dress I was charged $60...!!! --to close a slit in the dress. If those are Madison prices I will not be returning and warn anyone to steer clear. Never again...! I can ONLY imagine how expensive

Can not say enough good things about Angie Lu’s. I took my wedding dress to them that needed so much done to get it to where I felt excited to wear it and I couldn’t be happier. Not only talented but so kind and professional. Highly highly recommend!!

Angie lus was recommended to me by the wedding dress shop and I was extremely disappointed in their services. Not only is it expensive, but my dress was not ready when she said it would be and claimed it was because I kept losing weight. I ultimately had to bring it to another tailor a couple days before the wedding. Thank goodness they were able to fix it on time. It was an extremely stressful experience that should have been exciting and fun.

I used Angie Lu Tailors nearly 10 years ago for alterations to my wedding dress. In going through old photos, I was reminded of what a terrible experience we had here. I purchased a vintage gown for $150. It needed to be let out a bit and I requested straps and pockets be added (I supplied the lace for the straps). We were quoted $500-$600. I originally told my mother we should find somewhere else, but she insisted so I decided to have the alterations done here.
Two weeks before the wedding, we went to pick up my finished, cleaned and “pressed” dress. It looked like it had been crumpled up

I've avoided posting negative reviews because I don't want to hurt a small business and I know things can sometimes go wrong, but I decided to post this review so that people bringing their garments to this place know what to expect. I brought two dresses to get altered, one of which was a brand new dress which I received back with a visible pull that was not on the dress prior as it was out of the box. The second one also a new dress, is a bridesmaid dress on which I found multiple finger stains the night before the wedding and don't know how to fix. While the staff is very nice

She did all of my prom dresses and most recently my wedding dress (and my mother’s MOTB dress)! Such an amazing experience- everything came out perfectly. An amazing family run business I will continue to go to and trust with for all my future events!

I had a suit and vest made for my wedding. BEST experience!!
My wife and I wanted a “Gangs of New York” theme because we got married in City Hall in NYC. The suit, the vest...literally every recommendation was PERFECT.
And on top of everything else, the experience of having the suit made was incredibly fun!! :)

Extremely friendly and professional. I had two suits tailored there, and a zipper on my jacket fixed up. They did it for a great price to. I will return again for future tailoring needs.

Unfortunately I am writing a negative review. Lena came highly recommended from the bridal salon I bought my daughter's wedding dress from. Our first visit was beyond amazing. The cost was rather high however she assured us that the gown would be perfect when it left her shop. Six visits! Many tears from the bride. Lena actually was rather insistent that nothing more could be done to the gown that was now puckering at the bust line. Overpriced for poor quality

I brought in a very basic bridesmaid dress to be taken in - no beading or lace. I think i ended up being about $60. Other bridesmaids had the same work done elsewhere for about $20. Additionally, it was still too big and she removed the hanger straps for no apparent reason.

My husband brought his suit jacket there around the same time. The sleeves were cut way too short, ruining the jacket. He was also charged more than double what other tailors would cost.

The location was close to us so we were hoping it would work out but I would never recommend this place.

Lena was beyond amazing! She made my wedding dress fit like a glove! Her store is insanely clean and spotless. She really cares about making everything perfect. She is honest and kind and will go above and beyond for any request. She is also open on the weekends which was very helpful since I came from Boston for each fitting. I would not trust anyone else with my wedding dress. Lena is the best, hands down!

Lena is an absolute gem in a business that deals with an art that is becoming obsolete and some of us really appreciate that. Not only is tailoring a gown incredibly pain staking in itself that requires a life long amount of endless evolution and the styles and construction of gowns evolve, but they are also the face of your wedding or special event and can often have to balance the clients nerves, anxieties and insecurities along with the initial job at hand which is to tailor your gown.

They did a great job tailoring my wedding dress. They even hand cut the bottom into the perfect looking scallop cut! Would definitely recommend.

Lina, her staff and shop are very nice however, I paid $600 for a hem to a simple chiffon skirt and cups to be sewn in to my wedding gown. Three fittings and four months later, my dress was ready three days before my wedding and was still too long. Lesson being...1. Just b/c she was recommended by the bridal salon doesn't mean you shouldn't shop around 2. All things bridal have disgustingly inflated prices 3. Should've have gone to my local trustworthy tailor for a fraction of the price and time to do the job

Love love love Lina. Lina and her staff have an infectious energy that instantly lives my spirits. They go above and beyond for me every time I come in. I recently took in a lather jacket to their new location. She brought in the length of the sleeves and made it more fitted under my arms. It's perfectly snug just as I requested. The new location has an upscale boutique feel while still keeping the family style service that I love.

Lina at Angie Lu Tailors is so warm and greeted me at the door with a big hug and smile! She worked on my daughters prom dress, it was a week before prom and we were in a bind. She was professional to work with and got the job done right. It fit her like a glove! I would highly recommend Angie Lu.

I had the best experience possible with Angie Lu tailors for my wedding gown. Lina and her staff could not have been more friendly, welcoming and warm throughout my experience. My dress needed a fair bit of work, but Lina truly did the most exceptional job. I took my very delicate all-lace wedding dress that I had purchased from Everthine to Angie Lu and she did a STELLAR job! The alterations were fabulous and the dress fit me like a glove. She even saved the day when I had a near-meltdown... my dress is SUPER formfitting and I really wanted to wear Spanx with it so that absolutely nothing showed. Well... every kind of Spanx or undergarment showed some sort of line through the delicate lace. So she had the very creative idea of using what I was going to wear as a headpiece as a belt with a ribbon and it masked the line! Not only did she solve that

Angie did a fantastic job on my wedding dress! I was new to the area and had a difficult dress to alter due intricate lace at the bottom of my dress which had to be moved in order to alter the length. Angie is a perfectionist and made sure the dress fit me perfectly before I left my last appointment. She even insisted on delivering my wedding dress to my car at the end of my last fitting. I also found the price very reasonable when I compared it to other friends who had their dresses altered.

Although this place is a little pricey, it is very high quality. It cost me $90 to alter my dress but they shortened the length and took in around the chest and it looks amazing now. Before I didn't think id look good in in but now it fits like a glove.

They also had it ready in days which was helpful since I only had about a week.

Lastly it is quality work and does not look altered at all. The stitching is neat and even and the sides around the chest look untouched.

I will always come back here and am willing to pay a little more for the quality work.

Shouldn't have worried!

I took a huge gamble a month ago and dropped off three dresses with Angie, who I had never used before. One was a bridesmaid dress for this upcoming weekend.

Unfortunately I didn't have time to pick up the dress to make sure everything fit, and had my parents pick it up for me instead. I just tried the dress on right now, and it fits like a glove.

I have to say, I've been freaking out because three other bridesmaids have had huge tailor related dress mishaps. Thankfully, Angie is a great tailor and all of my dresses fit true to the measurements she took
