As a young boy, Herman Long would walk along the property of what is now Toccoa Valley Campground and would dream of one day owning the property. In 1942 Herman and Lois were married and purchased the property that he had dreamed of as a young boy. In the 1950's Herman took a job with the United States Forest Service.
Herman was in charge of building recreation areas and campgrounds in the Blue Ridge area such as Morganton Point and Lakewood Landing as well as others. It was during this time that Herman began to envision building his own private campground. Come and visit us - whether to tent camp, park your RV or float the river on one of our tubes, rafts or kayaks!

Services
For those looking for a fun-filled, horseback riding adventure in the Blue Ridge Mountains, we have several companies in our area who provide an exciting trip. The Toccoa River flows into Blue Ridge Lake, and once inside Tennessee it becomes the Ocoee River, home to the 1996 Olympic White Water Events.

So the campground is a dry campground. Just an FYI. Also we checked in on a Wednesday there was a sign up at te office with numbers to call if we have problems. Never once did we see an employee. Not once did anyone check in with us. We left 2 nights early due to the weather and the fact no employees were present. It's very remote no cell service so if we had an emergency we were screwed. The tent sites were very spacious, the grills need some restoring.

I am a big fan of camping next to rivers and here at Toccoa Valley Campground we did just that! My son and I camped here in the middle of July 2021 and had a great experience!
Affordable camping and cool water tubing right here! This is a beautiful place and so clean and well maintained. Check out these photos!

Four of us floated the river today.
$10/each will get you a pink tube, life jacket, parking, and a shuttle pickup to bring you back when you reach the end.
They offer tubes or rafts. I recommend a tube with a bottom as the water is a bit cold and the bottom keeps YOUR bottom from sitting in said cold water and bouncing off the occasional rock.
Please follow the signs directing you to take the foot path under the bridge connecting to the parking lot. We saw three separate groups decide to stroll across the road and have to rush back to avoid being run over.

Toccoa Valley Campground is beautiful. Super nice hosts, the grounds, bathrooms and showers was squeaky clean.
Their tubing operation is top notch. I was able to catch trout right outside our trailer door on Big Creek.
The Toccoa River is only a few yards away.
They only allow travel trailers under 24 ft.

This is THE BEST place to go tubing in blue ridge. They are seriously the sweetest and nicest folks. And it's only 10$a person. Sooo awesome. Also they sell watershoes waterproof phone bags and so much more for soooo cheap. We loved it so much we went twice back to back from open to close. It was amazing.

This place is absolutely amazing. Our campsite #7 was perfect. The staff are super helpful and friendly and they have everything you probably forgot at home at the stand as well as drinks and snacks. The showers are hands down the best showers I have ever used at a campground. Rafting and tubing are so much fun.and they have every size water shoe you could need. God Bless you guys for creating a wonderful family experience. You guys are the best!!
