Before the large hotel chains, there were owner operated motels and hotels that gave you the sense of being in someone's extended home. I was directed to the Lake Roberts Motel last Fall, when needing to stay in the area. The couple who have purchased the motel and call it home have created a wonderful retreat to stay and explore the lake, to fish, hike, visit the Gila Cliff Dwellings and just relax.
With just 1/2 dozen rooms and a small house for rent, even when full, it is still a peaceful retreat. The rooms are spotless, decorated with love in a southwest theme, and complete with small fridge and microwave. They have installed wifi and my room had a tv.

Services
Whether this is your first visit or you are old friends, you are family to us. This is the only business that we own, so we put every effort into it being a success. We purchased the Motel in September of 2012, it had undergone extensive renovations at that time. But if you ask any of our repeat guests they will tell you that the place is constantly changing and getting better.
Our Suites and Cabins are nestled in the peaceful pine forest of the 3.3 million acre Gila National Forest. Just minutes away from scenic Lake Roberts and about 35 minutes from the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument. Each unit has its own porch area and is furnished with outdoor table and chairs.
Sleeps total of 4 people. Payment Methods: MasterCard, Visa, Discover Card or Cash (with $100 Security Deposit or credit card on file). Special Requests: All special requests are subject to availability upon check-in, unless previously reserved. As a small, family owned motel we do not have a 24-hour front desk.

Beautiful rooms and grounds. I especially loved the cozy fireplace and kitchenettes to cook healthy meals. The hosts are also very sweet and helpful! They are very knowledgable about the area! Amazing hiking and wildlife all around! We saw bald eagles, javalina, deer, and elk. Very close to the cliff dwellings. Highly recommend!

I am so happy that I decided to stay here instead of in Silver City! The owners are so friendly and helpful. The room was amazing. Clean and comfortable. I got a kick out of the extra bag of towels. Felt so much at home. Enjoyed a nice evening on the porch watching the deer and wildlife. Sara Jean even took time to come visit with us. I will always stay here while in Mimbres!!
