I have been practicing psychiatry for over 25 years. My practice is limited to medication management for psychiatric disorders in adults including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and OCD. I use medications judiciously and do not attempt to use medication to treat issues that are better addressed with therapy or other non-medication interventions.

Before establishing a doctor-patient relationship, we will have a thorough one-hour consultation to formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan. We can then determine if I can be helpful to you with medication management and whether you find us to be a good match. You will not feel your best without adequate sleep, proper nutrition, balanced life, and avoidance of substances that can produce or worsen the very symptoms you want to treat.
Services
If you would like to become a patient please complete and submit the screening questionnaire. This is required to be submitted before Dr. Carmosky can give you an appointment. I understand that submitting this questionnaire does not establish a doctor-patient relationship. Please check if you need a referral from your Primary Care Physician prior to making an appointment.

Dr. Carmosky is the best psychiatrist in the Fauquier/Prince William area. She is highly attentive, thorough, caring, kind, empathetic, professional and understanding. She went above and beyond in treating me for conditions I have dealt with for many years. She is super flexible with scheduling, and I was able to get in to see her fairly quick for the initial consultation.

Dr. Carmosky is very rude, pushy, condescending and downright mean. She offers no scheduling flexibility when scheduling appointments 3 months out. She knows that I have a new job and work in a demanding industry, yet she would flat out decline when I'd try to reschedule an appointment in advance. Recently, I missed an appointment while away on a business trip which was followed by thanksgiving travel. I attempted to reschedule and she strung me along saying that she would "think about" not ending out doctor patient relationship. She first said that she had an appointment available

The meanest doctor I've ever seen, hands down. No empathy, full of judgement and very ill informed. She also does medical background checks on all patients before she even sees them, so be prepared to explain and be judged if you've ever been treated for addiction. Just a horrible person in general. I feel bad for her family, that is, if she still has any family that willingly maintain a relationship with her.

Sigh. My first appointment went well. No issues. Seemed nice enough. I just needed medication management. It really isn't that hard. Dr. Carmosky asked if I wanted to make a follow-up appointment in 3 months. I told her I couldn't because I was starting a new job soon and had no idea what my schedule was going to be. I said I would let her know when I knew. I got my schedule for August only. My next appointment was supposed to be in September. I got an agressive phone message at the end of August saying that since I hadn't made an appointment, Dr. Carmosky was going to drop me for

I can't say I'm surprised to read these things. In just my telephone interaction with her she came off rude, pushy, condescending and demeaning. She should be sentenced to hard labor until her holier than though attitude comes down into check!

Very out of touch. Told me I should feed my kid fast food and TV dinners because I told her I had difficulty with Time management. No empathy.
