Welcome to the Beach Croft Motel, located on beautiful Manasota Key in sunny Englewood, Florida. Our mission at Beach Croft is to provide an environment in which all our guests get to experience an Old Florida vacation. The atmosphere we have created is quiet, safe, and peaceful. We have done this by discouraging weddings, family reunions, multiple room rentals, or parties of any kind.

Now more than ever we are extremely focused on providing a safe environment for people to vacation at the beach. The primary focus for us is to limit the number of guests on the property. This has always been our policy for people who wish to disconnect. Most importantly guests do not have the option to invite additional unregistered guests.
Services
It started in the 1950's when a man named Ernest Johnson built a small motel on Englewood Beach for northerners to escape the cold winter months. Over the years others had owned Johnson's Motel but never changed the name. In 1985, Brett and I discovered the motel on a day trip to the island to purchase a small Yorkie puppy.

I don't even want to give this place one star! We arrived late. Room was not clean at all. My husband and I slept in our clothes on top of the bed. In the morning we found an opened chocolate pudding cup wedged between the swing doors to hold it open. There was an electrical outlet exposed! The shower was so gross I kept my sandals on and quickly rinse off. We had the room reserved for two nights and told the man/owner at the desk what we found in the room, he simply did not care and would not refund any money for the second night. We happily went to another place. Horrible!!!

I made a reservation and drove all the way there and she denied me to stay once I got there. I told her that my 69-year-old local friend was going to visit, with her husband who is a home health nurse. I said ok they don’t have to come in room, and they are not staying the night because they live local. They are next to public beach so there’s bathrooms and parking there. She said because I asked that I would surly break the rules and one of them might use the bathroom in the room and all of us 60 year olds are problems and don’t behave well so go find another place. So there’s probably

Clean room, comfortable bed, strong hot shower, right on the beach, reasonably priced. Furnished kitchenette and 2 beach chairs with umbrella for each room. Charming and quaint. Lots of plant life and privacy. That said, it is an older hotel with eclectic furnishings so You may be disappointed if you are used to high dollar luxury chain hotels,

Just really terrible owners. I'd suggest going elsewhere at any / all costs. Englewood is a great place (I live here). Let's support business that deserve it not places with owners who run a business like this. This is not a good representation of Englewood and our local hotels.

BEST LOCATION. Literally 10 steps from the beach. The garden full with every kind of plant you like. Exotic and still functional. Loved all the quirky decor. Room well stocked with everything one requires in the kitchen. Clean and spacious room. Beach chairs and Umbrella available. Parking secure in located space. A hidden gem indeed.

Interesting, quaint, comfortable sanctuary close to the beach. Right next to a large public parking lot, Beach Croft Motel separates itself by creative use of natural local foliage and a few locked gates. The rooms themselves are a bit dated but adequate for an extended stay like the week that we stayed. Four stars because of a few minor imperfections but overall it's a gem hidden in plain sight. I'll definitely recommend Beach Croft Motel to friends.
