I've been going to charmarie for about two years to get my hair cut by Becca. She is the absolute best, and the salon is great too. They've done a really good job keeping their customers safe throughout covid, which I greatly appreciate.

I looked up the place because I wanted to go back to my original hair style and there pictures looked amazing and didn’t charge high so I thought to myself to give it a try. My hair looked great because of the style they decided for my hair. Almost 2 months later I wasn’t feeling the same result as I did with my original hair salon I would go to. I thought I had to change hair products and it still wasn’t helping because I have thick wavy hair so I took the expensive products back and went back to my original hair salon to fix my hair and had absolutely no issues with my hair back at home

I had Hayley style my hair before my engagement photos, and she did a fantastic job!! I have super thick hair and she curled it and styled it way better than I ever could've. I definitely want to come back here next time I'm in Blacksburg!

Cat, let me tell you, is amazing! I’ve got thick hair and lots of it. This angel meticulously examined the final cut and used her blades like a freaking wand of perfection. I love my hair!
She’s also got some great positive vibes. 10/10 recommend and will return.

I got highlights at this salon and I am not happy.The result is completely different from the picture that I showed to the stylist. I even had a consultation with her before getting the highlights and she didn't say that I cannot get it and I think the reason is because she is not familiar with the type of my hair. The worst thing is that the base color is the same as my own color and it's like I didn't get my hair colered. it cost me a lot more than what I was told (more than 200 $) since she had to use turner to make the highlights look better (it was greenish at first) but still the color of

I love this Salon. The salon itself is clean, professional and very well run. The receptionist are lovely always answering the phones and taking care of the customers who walk in for appointments. I've gotten two different services here so far and my reviews for those services are below:
I have gotten eyelash extensions here with Ms. Lindsey who does an amazing job and is super sweet. She's super easy to talk to and will ask you what level of work you're looking for and how you want the result to come out but also makes sure that it's going to look good on you, will ast properly and goes over

Amy did my hair, she worked very fast and did an AMAZING job. she's definitely very experienced and professional. they're very safe and sanitary and practice covid guidelines. would definitely recommend!! glad to say i found my new favorite salon in blacksburg!

I've wanted vivid hair for years, and I was so excited to finally book my appointment with Michaela. She did an amazing job! She was knowledgeable and professional throughout, told me what to expect at each step, and gave me exactly the color I was looking for. She also gave me valuable information about upkeep, and took my desire for color that would "fade pretty" into account. She's an artist!

I usually am so nervous when getting my hair done. I've had stylists talk about how damaged my hair is right in front of me and always feels a bit discouraged. Allie was the kindest person to ever do my hair! The results were exactly what I wanted. I have gotten so many compliments on it. I'll definitely be coming back. I wish I could give this place 10 stars :)

Very professional work! All the staff are working together in harmony and have sweet hearts. Martha cut my hair (straight hair) and my daughter (super curly hair) and it was wonderful haircuts.

We have been clients of Melinda's since we moved to the NRV 23 years ago, and while I have faithfully followed her wherever she has moved, I am so pleased that this lovely salon, CharMarie, is where she landed.

Melinda cut my daughter's hair for the first time while she squirmed on my lap, she fixed the scary "cherry cola" boxed hair dye experiment from middle school, did her first "up-do" for a dance, and is still patiently cutting, styling and performing her balayage magic on this same kid.

My daughter was in town for the military ball and we had booked an appt with Becca online. Upon our arrival at the salon we found out that there had been some issue in which our appt and another girl's appt were combined into one. The staff worked quickly to find a solution even though it was clear everyone was very busy. My daughter was taken back in minutes and one person started prepping her until a different stylist, Candice, took over and finished. My daughter was thrilled with her hair and the overall experience was very positive!

I've been coming to CharMarie since the salon first opened and have always had an amazing experience. The staff are always friendly, kind, and professional and the salon itself is beautiful and comfortable.

That being said, I had the absolute best experience ever at my last appointment with Becca. I came in for a color touch-up and left with beautiful, almost magical hair. It's like she could see the color that was in my mind that I've never been able to vocalize and made it reality. Thank you, Becca!!!!

Love love love the service I received here. I messaged Bethany about blending some chunkier highlights that had grown out. I have warmer toned, dark blonde hair and the highlights I received at another salon came out cool toned and poorly blended. Bethany was incredibly helpful and made me feel much less nervous about coming to a new salon. When I had my appointment, she really took the time to fix the roots, while also toning all over so that my color was refreshed. I feel great about my hair, and will definitely be coming back!

I don't know what it was about this place, but the experience was just ok for me. I was in and out of the salon in about 30 minutes and didn't feel that the quality of my cut (just a basic trim) was worth the $44 spent. It seems like this salon is for the locals, everyone seemed to know each other. My stylist Candice only asked me questions about the style I wanted. I don't need my stylist to talk to me the whole time but it was awkward to me and I felt like just another person. I don't know if I would recommend this place to my friends, and I might try it again with another

Highly recommend for wedding hair! Charmaine did mine and my bridesmaids' hair. She came on-site, which made our lives so much easier. She did a fantastic job and was super easy to work with!

Amy is my stylist and she is the best! My hair was stripped and I was experiencing some hair loss from the change in water and a medical reason. She rehabbed my hair and it is now healthy and the moderate hair loss in now within the normal range. It is healthy and shiny, which really helps with confidence.

I have lived in the NRV my whole life and have had my fair share of terrible haircuts and bad hair salon experiences. Needles to say, I was very skeptical and nervous to try yet another new hair salon. I read about a million reviews on CharMarie and finally booked a haircut and partial balayage with Candice. I left there feeling better than I did coming in and my hair looked awesome! Candice did an amazing job at listening to what I wanted, suggesting different options and helping me achieve the look I wanted. Who would think you would find such a great salon in Christiansburg! After moving to Blacksburg from Florida I was so discouraged after trying a couple
Of other salons. Then I found Amy Kinsley at CharMarie and finally had great color and style again. Everyone at the salon is friendly and Amy is a real talent!

I had a great time at this salon for a great price. I never know exactly what I want to do with my hair and I always appreciate a stylist who isn't afraid to tell me what looks good and what won't. Unfortunately I just didn't walk out with that I want to show off my hair look, that I always look forward to after the salon.

I had a fabulous experience from start to finish. Amy intuitively knew what I was trying to describe, and generously offers an extremely affordable dry-cut option. As a grad student, I deeply appreciate this. Amy was warm and fun, and my cut was finished before I knew it. I love how my hair looks, and will be back again and again!

Hands down the best salon I've ever been too and let me say, I've been to many! Try to book in advance because spots fill up quick. Especially if you want an appointment with the owner Charmaine, but don't worry, every one that works there is AMAZING.

The New River Valley is lucky to have a salon like CharMarie. I wish there were more stars to give!
