Services
Highland Campgrounds was the brain child of John and Ruth Walker who were avid campers. Their dream was to build a campground deep in the woods of the Endless Mountains, with over-sized sites surrounded by flora and fauna. Their vision came to be in 1973 when they purchased a plot of land, here in Wyoming County.

Don’t like giving bad reviews but this one required. Arrived with reservation on 8/25 after a long drive. As others said, the turn off from the main road is easy to miss; we did. After climbing the hill, came to a T in the road but the direction sign was covered by overgrown brush. Had to get out to reveal it; that’s the sort of thing a camp owner should always keep clear. Entered the campground and found the small registration building unoccupied & locked. We were previously told this might be the case so we called Tony to register and show us to our site. What we were NOT TOLD about beforehand

I went camping here a couple weeks ago with my family for our sons birthday, we had our dog (leashed and in a cage) and the people who were set up there previously to us being there had their dog off the leash 24/7 digging in our tent and in our food. Looked like they had been living there, no problem with that at all. It just smelt and looked disgusting, we even fed and watered their dog because they had left the dog there for 10+ hours unattended. We told the guy working there and he literally did little to nothing to help us get the dog away from ours. Our son was so sad being there with their

Very nice camp sites with power and water at them.
PROS:
* Water and Power at the sites.
* Pea gravel as opposed to larger gravel
* A large open field with monkey bars, swings, sea saws and a few other things
* Firewood sold by the barrow full for $8 each
* Didn’t seem too buggy
* A little poison ivy around but not bad at all, especially if you know how to see it and where.
* Pet/Dog friendly
* The cabins are very secure, have fridges and microwaves
CONS:
- Showers were run down, in poor repair and poorly lit
- Playground equipment was dated and not necessarily what i would say as

Would not recommend staying at this place. It has a few positives, but I did not feel super comfortable here like all the other campgrounds I have been to. It is definitely an older place that is somewhat kept but not updated at all.
Pros:
- Pretty good size site with wooded trees around
- Didn't have another site right next to you.
- Two picnic tables
- Wifi at the pavilion was pretty strong
- The outside pavilion was a nice, updated structure with lots of picnic tables and some potted plants.
- Pool water was clean.
Cons:
- The place seems to house mostly folks that are there permanently

Tent sites where right up front by the office, pool and bathrooms. Kind of an open field where you picked a spot and put up your tent.
I did not use the showers but I would suggest bringing a light. The bathrooms/ showers could use a little more light. Not the best/ cleanest bathrooms in my opinion, but not the worst. (Was good enough for my quick stop of less than 12 hrs)
The campground is at the top of a hill, was paved then turned into a gravel road. Thought we passed the entrance at first and we were going to turn around at the top of the hill when we saw the sign. There was also free WiFi

I've been to this place twice in less than two months. First time was Okay, we enjoyed it. Besides the
men's bathroom not being well maintained, both times i went it was little dirty and bugs all over it. Second time we went, we were disappointed. The pool wasn't cleaned and is the only place to swim around there. They started cleaning the pool hours after we got there, so we couldn't use the pool at all, which was the biggest reason we chose that place. They need better maintenance. Oh, and gaming room needs an update a well.

Last minute reservation for an overnight stay. Little dicey getting there if you have a big rig. Last leg is unimproved road. Quiet and secluded.

Like some people pointed out already, the staff is usually not at the front desk. Not a big deal, just picked up the phone and called. Had no issues with them at all. The owner was awesome.
We had planned on getting a camp site but when we got there they had a cabin available so we took that instead. It was a really nice cabin. Small but nice. Had electric, heat, microwave, and fridge. It was great. We fit 5 adults, although we did have to put an air mattress in their so we all fit.
The camp ground itself was really nice for a camp ground. Bathrooms were not bad and the washroom had just been
