Services
Dr. Harline graduated from BYU before attending medical school at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. From 1996 to 2000 he was a United States Air Force physician; he completed his four-year commitment with the rank of Major. Of his work at Alpine Recovery Lodge he writes, I am privileged to help people who are greatly struggling to overcome their addiction.
Alpine Recovery Lodge has developed a cutting edge treatment program to address the varying components of addiction. We utilize the very best in therapeutic modalities that have proven records of lasting success. We believe in collaborating with our patients so that they are part of their own treatment planning process.
Individuals who abuse drugs and alcohol suffer ill effects from these powerful and toxic substances (both alcohol and drugs). In addition to those effects, abusers often become lax in other areas where their health is concerned. They tend to eat poorly, don't exercise, and are prone to negative thinking and despair.
When it comes to providing in-house, medically supervised detox treatments in Utah, people turn to Alpine Recovery Lodge to help them through this difficult time. We help our patients as they work through withdrawal symptoms and taper off drugs and/or alcohol. In many cases, residents have both a drug and alcohol addiction and we help them take a well-rounded approach to getting their life back on track.
At Alpine Recovery Lodge, we believe that spiritual healing plays a pivotal role in recovering from the abuse of addictive substances. This is why on top of our comprehensive LDS addiction recovery programs and proven therapeutic methods, we incorporate LDS teachings to our approach as requested. Our philosophy is based on treating you, the individual.

Alpine is the best thing I ever did. Saved my life. The staff is amazing. Each one of the staff played an very important part in my recovery. I do not have enough good to say about Alpine. I researched so many places before I went into treatment and I always came back to Alpine and I am so glad that I chose to come here. They have changed my life beyond measure! The staff is absolutely amazing and the clinical team is by far the best I have ever been to. It is a friendly, loving, caring environment and you will feel like family before you are done. The chef is great, I have a lot of food allergies and he has accommodated every meal for me. I’ve been through multiple treatment centers before I came to Alpine. I wasn’t sure how long I was going to stay, 3 and a half months later I’m still here. I finally found a program that worked for me. I lost everything in life before I came here and was on the verge of homelessness. I didn’t get my old life back, I got a new life that was worth living. The staff is amazing they setup a care plan for me and I was able to work through some deep dark rooted problems. I have other residents tell me I’m an inspiration to them and they look up to me. Entering into a recovery facility is a different experience for everyone. For me it was feelings of fear, nervousness, and difficulty. Immediately upon entering Alpine I felt safe, valued, validated, and accepted. The treatment which comprehensive approach of mental stability along with addiction recovery is encompassing as well as individualized to specifically fit my needs. Leaving I feel prepared to utilize all the knowledge I have gained here and live my life of recovery to the best possible.

I did not come here happily, my family was very insistent, and rightfully so. I was scared of the unknown and had never been in treatment before. I am not exaggerating when I say Alpine recovery Lodge saved my life. After a relapse on alcohol, I was broken, desperate and hopeless. I wasn’t sure I had the strength or stamina for another recovery or that my family could ever deal with me again. Alpine’s healing environment and excellent team of skilled therapists and team members helped restore my sense of sanity and hope and helped me work on the bigger issues which lead me to use alcohol in unhealthy and destructive ways. Alpine accepted and took me in at some of the lowest points in my life. I received therapy and counseling that assisted me in working through deep seeded trauma, and the tools I learned in the group therapy sessions are useful in daily life. Alpine Recovery Lodge has changed my life in ways I could have never imagined. Compassion, kindness and acceptance is what they give to anyone who walks through their doors. The staff makes it feel like a home and they are always there to help you feel comfortable and safe. You are treated like family and shown how to love yourself again.
