Eighth Circuit Appears to Mandate Appeal of Interlocutory Orders in Order to Preserve Right of Appellate Review. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit recently handed down an important opinion addressing the doctrine of equitable mootness in bankruptcy appeals. The North Carolina Wage and Hour Act (NCWHA) governs the payment of wages to workers employed in North Carolina and is enforced by the North Carolina Department of Labor.

An assumed business name is not a business' legal name but the name it presents to the public or its "D/B/A." North Carolina maintains a statewide database of assumed business names publicly accessible on the. Smith Debnam is a well-respected law firm in Raleigh, North Carolina. Services
Smith Debnam was established in 1972 with a straightforward goal: to solve the legal problems of our clients. As we continue to pursue that goal, we recognize that simply knowing the law is not enough. Our attorneys are tops in their areas of practice, well-regarded by their peers, and in many instances board certified.
At Smith Debnam, our focus has always been on efficiently handling the legal needs of our clients. As a result, over the years we've accrued a wide range of experience in providing personal legal services and in addressing the legal concerns of small businesses and major corporations.

Whether your case involves a large national organization, a local company, a non-profit group or your family, we make it our business to understand your situation, respond accurately with the facts at hand, and resolve issues as expediently as possible.
Our attorneys work as hard in their profession as you do in yours. This includes broadening their horizons beyond the case at hand by participating in legal, business and civic organizations - and always keeping an eye open for innovative ways to solve legal challenges. We think it's just as important for everyone to connect with their local community in ways that are both effective and personally fulfilling.
At Smith Debnam, our philosophy is simple - to provide the best possible value to our clients. We firmly believe that the key to delivering such value is equally simple - the people who make it happen. Our professional service team, the attorneys, paralegals, and staff, is, therefore, our most important asset.
Smith Debnam's appellate practice team handles cases brought before the North Carolina Court of Appeals, North Carolina Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

We offer a full suite of appellate services, including prosecuting and defending direct appeals, handling certiorari petitions and extraordinary writs, and serving as counsel to organizations and individuals wishing to file amicus briefs on important issues in cases already pending before the appellate courts.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness
Low life collection attorneys. They are the ambulance chasers of the collection world. They pick up ancient debt that has been written off years ago then extort money from people. These attorneys have clearly sold their souls for money.

They put you on a payment plan and still file a judgement against you at the court house. you call the court house and explain this to them and they tell you that they can not do this. lots of confusion. so why pay them if they are putting a judgement against you? this is a big mess.

I had a custody case and hired this firm to represent me. The quoted a price to do the case, then we made arrangements. I initially filed all the paper work. Still not seeing my child, all I got out of the money I spent was in contempt order which cost 125 still not seeing my son. So I dismissed my case fired them and now the want 14,000.00. This firm is money hungry and will not get you anything. I strongly advise to stay away.

I went to Smith Debnam after separating from my wife. Meet John Narron, I told him my story and based on that he told me exactly what my ex was entitled to. Later I was Passed to Max Rodden to represent me. My Ex was represented by a deceptive liar that told her she was entitled to so much more. Only after her dragging things out and lining her pockets Max advised mediation. Then and only then my Ex was told the truth by the Mediator. It was a long day but we were able to wrap things up.

I have never been so poorly represented in my life although Divorce has been my only need for council thus far. Please don't be fooled by the 'Lawyer of the Year' accommodations posted on their website that I now know to merely be 'awards' given by lawyers to their legal peers vs actual customers. Apparently, its just a richly politic based method created to distribute these so called awards as a 'I will scratch your back if you scratch mine' arrangement, in a word a facade. It must be nice however, I was so inspired by this I just now awarded myself and 3 of my colleagues 'Corporate Sales Leaders

I had such a horrible experience with this firm. Brian Register was the attorney representing the buyers in the sale of home. He and his paralegal, Miryam Druggers, we’re responsible for organizing the closing and the necessary paperwork. They’re lack of professionalism was staggering. They did not return phone calls or emails, from me, my realtor, or the buyers (their clients). They sent me the paperwork late, after several requests. When I received it, my name was spelled wrong and it took hours to get that corrected. No one returned our calls or contacted us to verify they had received my

DO NOT deal with their employee Kimberly Fields. We tried to fix a debt that was owed and she gave us a number to call to work out a solution. We found out after it was too late that it was to some other collection agency. We had already sent the money. Now they say that she never gave us another number, that it wasn't on the recording. I guess she cut the recording off at just the right time. BEWARE BIG SCAM!!

Emily Jeske helped me to settle my divorce case. She was responsive, prompt and courteous. She helped me to navigate a complicated process and advocated for what was in my children's best interests. I found the front desk staff helpful and I could not have asked for a better experience with the divorce itself, all thanks to Emily (I ended up working with Emily after two other lawyers couldn't help me).

Extremely unprofessional. This firm sent a threatening letter regarding a foreclosure claim against my mother's estate. When I attempted to contact the firm to pay the claim, I was pushed around from department to department and voicemail to voicemail. No one returned my call. You'd think that if they want their money so urgently, they would return a phone call - especially if you want to pay the claim!

These people are the worst. They harass you for funds and only offer unaffordable finance options. After all of their program setup fees and finance charges my bill increased by nearly 25% just to get the charges stretched out over six months. To make matters worse, their phone numbers are primarily extension setup to go straight to voicemail with a message that says " for a prompt response, contact me by email, otherwise your call will be returned in one business day". I emailed them in the morning only to receive no response the entire day. This was after I had already tried reaching them by
