In 1980 Jack Markowitz and his 2 sons, Alvie and Harry, founded Jack's Deli and Restaurant. Having grown up in Czechoslovakia, Jack experienced many of the exceptional, traditional deli foods first hand in the heart of Eastern Europe, where the deli was born. His goal was to bring these wonderful foods and dishes along with the traditional dishes he grew up on at home, to his new restaurant.
Harry moved to Los Angeles in 1982, and in 1997 Gary Lebowitz joined Alvie as his partner. Jack passed away in 2002 but his legacy remains. Today, nearly all the dishes at Jack's are still prepared the same way, from scratch, using only the finest ingredients from around the country.

Just what I wanted, a proper deli experience with a proper corned beef sandwich. When she came to check on me, I told my waitress, "You guys are really good," and she said, "We try."
It's completely believable that they really mean to be good here. Good people, good food, what's not to love about this place?

Fantastic deli! I had a New Yorker with pastrami, which I typically call a Rachel. It was great. Excellent service. The dining area was very clean and comfortable. I was seated right away. Sizeable pickle tray was served before my sandwich. I arrived early for a typical lunch, 10:45, but my food came out very quickly. With tax the sandwich and potato salad, plus pickles and a glass of water totalled just shy of $17.50. I have eaten here many times over the years and will definitely return. The location is great, even if the parking is a bit screwy.

I have no been to this restaurant in several years. We went here on 12/21/21. It was not too crowded. The man who seated us was funny, efficient and started the meal off with a smile. We appreciated the plastic dividers between each booth. The waitress timed her presence well, checking on us without hovering over us too often. The classic corn beef sandwich was so good. We enjoyed our meal.

Jack's Deli has a great variety of traditional deli fare. I had one of the recommended dishes smoked salmon over their potatoes pancake with cream cheese and capers and onions. Wow! Husband had corned beef hash which was massive and delicious. We took home the BEST cheesecake too. Daughter had an egg sandwich and moved it. The omlete that the other person had was reported to have had runny cheese however. Service was great. The prices are a little steep. But we would go back in a heartbeat. Because it was worth it.

Its a Cleveland Original, need I say more. One of the awesome places to go for your old-time cravings. Had a lunch with the friend and I went for Triple Decker (Corned Beef, Hot Pastrami, Muenster Cheese w/ Lettuce and Tomato on Rye, Served w/ Cole Slaw and a Side of Thousand Island Dressing. My friend had scrambled eggs with salami (don't remember which one, sorry), bagel and cheese.
No complaints, none whatsoever, it was that good

I've been going to Jack's since I moved to Cleveland in the late 1980s. Great place for traditional deli food They never disappoint. The LEO (lox-eggs-onion) omelet for breakfast is a favorite.
We moved away 15 years ago and don't stop by as often. After all that time the owners still remember and ask about my Dad.

A little overrated, at least for breakfast. Service was quick but the place was practically empty so hard to judge. The food was OK and therein lies the problem. Deli/restaurant joints are supposed to be a step above regular breakfast places with no nonsense approach, better attention to detail, and well made food that keep customers coming back for years. That's not the case at Jack's.
