Peter Havens was given life over 20 years ago by Thomas Dahlin and Gregg Van Iderstine. The restaurant has since become a fixture in the Brattleboro community. With Thom's gracious hospitality and Gregg's thoughtful cooking, Peter Havens gained a loyal following of locals and travelers alike looking for a warm welcome and delicious food.
Allowing up to 40 guests, our private dining room is perfect for your next birthday party, bridal shower, graduation party or rehearsal dinner. We can host a buffet dinner or we can create a Prix Fixe menu with you. With its own bar, event staff and restroom facilities, you and your friends and family can enjoy this intimate setting all night long.

As the nights grow colder and the days grow shorter we are getting ready for our fall break.
Patio and dining room seating is available by reservation. Please note: if we have to close the patio due to weather we will call you on the day of to cancel or reschedule your reservation. I'll try not to be too wordy. Dinner was very good as expected but I was not pleased with the service. It was my wife's birthday so we ordered drinks to celebrate. Our mistake in that we ordered our meal at the same time. The mussels came out first and the drink that my wife ordered was taking forever to arrive. The server (name withheld) said the bar was really backed up. Ok....wait on the appetizer until we can at least have a toast. By the way, first words to server was that it was my wife's birthday and we came to Peter Havens for that reason.

For tonight's date night we had the luxury of enjoying Peter Havens. While the bread was a bit crusty with a lackluster dip to start out, everything else we ordered including both of the specials and the creme brulee were all impeccable. One of the specials was a house made fettuccine with wonderful scallops and panchetta while the other was a pork shank with locally harvested chicken of the woods mushrooms. We kept passing the plates back and forth between us trading wonderful bites. You will not be disappointed to take the reccomednations of the server. Well done!

Probably the best restaurant in the town of Brattleboro. I have been here several times and have yet to be disappointed. servers and staff are quick and friendly to the point that they recognized me at my second visit and said good to see you again .Prices reflect quality, your not going to leave disappointed no matter what you order. seafood is always fresh and everything is cooked to perfection. I would recommend AHI tuna appetizer with salmon risotto main followed up by creme brulee.

Everything about our meal at Peter Havens last night was as close to perfect as could be. The food was fantastic, the ambience was lovely, and our server, Adrienne, was the nicest, most accommodating, professional, and poised server I have ever encountered outside of a fancy restaurant in a major city. We ordered the arancini and tuna tartare appetizers (both delicious), the harissa chicken main (juicy and flavorful but not spicy), the duck (amazing), and a ribeye steak (perfectly cooked and the best steak I have had outside of a steakhouse in Vermont). So so so amazing!!!! One of the best dinners I’ve had out in a LONG TIME!! Got the onion soup of the day (to die for), along with the lamb shank special served with truffle mashed potatoes and local mushrooms. Then creme brûlée to top it all off!!! Will be talking about this meal for a long time. MUST STOP BY!
