My Uncle’s favorite sandwich is made here, the portobello mushroom. My tuna melt on rye was delicious! Be sure to ask for their yummy deli pickles and a side of German potato salad!
The service is efficient and the dining area now has more space. Outside dining is also available. You can usually find free street parking nearby. It’s easy to call ahead and pick up takeout.

Knowing that Gershon's Deli would be busy Christmas Eve, my husband showed up at 8 a.m. to order 4 deli sandwiches and some salads. He was told, "we are not doing sandwiches today." It was 8 a.m. and he was the only customer line in the DELI. He was told they had many "to go" orders and catering today; so they could not get him 4 deli sandwiches. He left Gershon's and went to the Niskayuna Co Op. They actually are a deli that sells deli sandwiches. He also got some delicious salads. Thank God for delis that sell sandwiches!!!

I love Gershons and have been coming here for years for my pastrami and corned beef fix. I have never said anything negative about Gershons, but have to say that I was very disappointed yesterday. I ordered my usual combo sandwich, and the pastrami was great but the corned beef was mostly fat. I had to discard most of it. I know getting products in is more difficult these days. but that should not be served or there should be an option for ordering lean, as many delis have available. Just a thought.

We found Gershon’s to be fairly disappointing. My boyfriend and I got two pastrami breakfast sandwiches and a chicken cutlet sandwich from Gershon’s. While the breakfast sandwiches were delicious, the chicken tasted fishy and it was gross. Not to mention the poor service from the staff. The woman taking our order seemingly could not retain my order whatsoever and I had to repeat myself several times, nor was she particularly friendly. None of the staff were friendly or welcoming in any way. Three sandwiches took 25 minutes to make and cost $25. We most likely won’t be back.

My boyfriend was visiting Upstate last week so I took him here in Gershon’s for breakfast. I had Pastrami on Rye and he had a burger, medium well. He was amazed with the quality and the flavor of the burger. The I had pastrami is indeed fresh and tasty, not unlike the ones you buy in fast food chains or in the grocery store. They were very generous with the portions too. I would recommend every deli lovers to come and try Schenectady’s gem: Gershon’s!
