Community is important to us at Longtable, and has been since we first opened three years ago. As with so many changes we have all experienced in 2020, our understanding of community has evolved a great deal this year. While the lessons haven't always been easy, we have been inspired by examples of resilience, creativity, collaboration and giving.

First time here and will probably be the last. My wife was scolded for not stopping at the host spot to be seated... she missed the sign and there was only a couple of other parties there. Service was very slow and not very personable... didnt feel welcome at all. Food was okay but overpriced. Seating is very uncomfortable with picnic tables and metal stools.

Stopped in for takeout, as we have two little kiddos and don’t feel comfortable eating out yet. Host Jeffrey was absolutely wonderful, and made sure we were comfortable and well entertained while our food was being prepped. The takeout food was lovely, particularly the cheese curds and the BBQ frites. Wish I could give them extra stars. Tip well, friends —- they deserve it!!!

We love going to the Longtable, typically for day dates when time allows. Our server, twice now, has been Jeffrey and he is such a joy. We love the beer selection and the food (especially the cheese curds and the brisket fries)! Longtable is located in the perfect spot to also enjoy some great boutique style shopping while there. We will be back!

I've been wanting to try dinner and beers here for a long time and finally had the opportunity this past Saturday night. We were able to walk in and get seated right away. It's a unique setting as far as seating goes but you certainly don't feel crowded or too close to the party next to you. Perhaps had it been busier that would have been different? The patio doors were open on this fall evening which we think contributed to the less than warm temp on our meals. We'd like to come back and give it another try as we were a bit underwhelmed in general. We collectively tried the

Been here twice now in last few months. The service is awful. I get it, the attitude of service is changed, but I cannot stomach supporting this place. You are greeted with hostility, not an ounce of welcomeness. Short/curt, the two middle age males seem miserable and that being there is the last place they want to be. We waited forever for beers, didn't even get the option to order food as the server (Jeffery) had left our table before we could even ask. We are all about second chances, but after a similar experience again, we won't be back. It is now called 'rude-table'. Also

I am so glad I stumbled upon this place. It is so unique and fun, just a great place to get a drink and hang out! They have garage door type walls that they open up when it's nice out. They have plenty of seating and an ungodly amount of beers/ciders/seltzers to choose from. They also serve food (I did not get to try any of the food). Great unique place if you are adventurous and want to get out and try something new that you've probably never had before! You can carry out these beers/cans too like a grocery store. Give this place a try!

Yesterday the host was so rude and demeaning with no patience! While we were deciding whether to carry- out, since there was an hour wait for an outdoor table, he deleted our foursomes' name from his iPod and refused to put it back in. We were not the least bit confrontational. We left. We found out this morning that our neighbors were there last night too. They had a bad experience as well.

A star for each slice of green pepper on my Philly cheese steak. That's right, one. 40 minutes after placing our order we were informed that one of the entrees we ordered was not available. About ten minutes later, our food was brought out by someone other than our waitress, so at about one bite in our waitress popped over to see how everything was. She didn't return to ask if everything was okay after that.
The Philly cheese steak had only one slice of green pepper and also contained a long gross piece of beef fat.
Each half of the grilled cheese sandwich came from different sandwiches and it

Tried this place out tonight after a day at the CrossFit Games and it was awesome! We were planning on going to a spot around the corner for noodles but found out it's carry out only. Food was great. Quality was good. Absolutely amazing selection of beer.
Atmosphere at this spot was really laid back. It's set in a residential area with commercial spaces on the first floor. Very great vibe sitting on the patio.
All in all this wasn't a 5-star situation to me because of the quality of the food and the organization of the place. We showed up and were told 10 minutes and ended up

Food was great, but the service needs a little work. I called in for a pickup order and they said it would be 30 minutes. No big deal, I'm happy to wait. When I get there 30 minutes later, they say that it's almost ready and that they'll send me a text when it is. Again, not a big deal, I'm happy to wait. 45 minutes later, I don't get a text, but I'm tired of waiting so I go up again. My food has been sitting out and is pretty lukewarm.
Even cold, the cheese curds were fantastic. Definitely interested in coming back, but I'll plan on dining in instead.

Ordered a burger without ketchup and mustard. They served me a burger with ketchup and mustard. I sent it back. They then served me the same patty with new bun having tried lazily to wipe the ketchup and mustard off. Haven't seen that bush league move since the 1980s at McDonalds.
Also the cook who pulled the move was the only employee not consistently wearing a mask.
They did refund me the meal when I brought it to the manager's attention. That's how they earned the one star.

Went here for Madison Burger Week to try out the community burger and then also ended up ordering the brisket sandwich. The community burger was very good! The mint yogurt and tomato-chili chutney played nicely with the beef/lamb combo burger, providing a coolness to the sandwich. The bun was also perfect for absorbing all of the juices of the burger and sauces. I also got the coleslaw as my side, which was kind of soggy. The jicama slaw that they used to have was much better. The brisket sandwich was piled high with meat and giardinara. Some pieces of brisket at the top were a little dry, but

Take-out with patio pickup, ordered at 4:30 with a 5:00-5:15 pickup time. Called ahead to make sure the pickup time was right (because the order slip said to pick up at 4:30 which is when I ordered. A glitch, they assured me.) It's 5:28 and still no food, not even an acknowledgement they are late and breaking their promise. I asked for an update, and turns out, the food's been ready and sitting there for "about five minutes." Wow. Again, no apology or anything.
It's a shame. The food was good, though a bit cold. But the service was terrible.

THIS IS NOT TAKE-OUT.
You order online, choose the 15-minute time range for pick-up. And when you get there, they say, "What's your name? Perfect. We'll start your order for you." Um, NO.
You can drop my fries when I get there. You can even say, "I'm sorry -- we're about 10 minutes behind." But under no circumstances should you say, "We're starting that now because you just got here."
The person manning the patio counter said the exact same thing to the three people who came after me, so I know mine was not a special case.
If I choose

Love this place for hanging with friends and trying some new beers! I went on a Wednesday night and we were able to get a seat but I hear it can get pretty packed on the weekends! Excellent beer selection. A handful on tap and a huge cooler of bottled beers-- all with a sticky note describing their style and taste. I could spend all night reading about all the local brews! On of the recommended the sour on tap and it was delicious! Everyone was very friendly and helpful!! As for the food I loved the fries and cheese curds but the bbq was just okay. I probably wouldn't come back for a meal

My first visit. May 30, 2019. 9 something PM.
I was already informed by my wife that had recently discovered this place that it would be immediately my new favorite Middleton place to eat and drink.
Having driven by countless times this past couple months I figured it would be an interesting visit.
Upon entry I see more beers than imaginable on display in a massive display.
I was a tad overwhelmed.
Enough so that I skipped past it and went instead to the more manageable tap area where I might make an easier choice with only about a dozen to pick from. That too was a little much since I&apos

Heard good things about this place! The beer selection and cheese curds were fantastic as I was told. The atmosphere was also very chill. As the restaurant name implies--- long tables so good for groups if it's not too busy. Just snag whatever seating there is..order at the register.
Besides the cheese curds, the food was pretty average. Had a selection of the meats.. wings meh, briskit seemed dry... Or at least needed sauce. Pulled pork also dry and needed some sauce.
I'd come back if I was in a larger group and wanted a chill, easy place for all.

The concept of Longtable is great- they have a huge selection of can and bottled beer/drinks when you first walk in. You then pick a spot, look at menu and then go up to counter to order and pay for items. Food is bar good but upscale. The brisket sandwich was really good, the fries are amazing, and the cheese curds were absurdly greasy (like Fair food greasy) which I didn’t really like but they were still tasty. Overall, good but kind of pricey. The restaurant itself is very nice, with indoor and outdoor seating and windows that open to let allow for the inside-outside feel (which is lovely

Cool, casual spot with a huge selection of beer. To no surprise, the space is full of long tables and a very open atmosphere. This is a great place to go with a group of friends. We enjoyed a few beers, and I delighted by the endless choices on the wall.
The group ordered the brisket sandwiches, cole slaw, cheese curds, and beer cheese soup. It was my first time trying beer cheese soup and it was not for me, but everything else was tasted!
Looking to try some new beers or a casual spot to hangout with friends? This is a good pick! The place fills pretty quickly around dinner time, so beware

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the concept of this place. I'm not usually a big fan of the communal table cafeteria feel, and when you walk in there's a huge cooler full of canned/bottled beer that definitely added to that feel. However, all of that information is pretty much in the restaurant name, so I more or less knew what I was walking into.
The restaurant was pretty busy for a Wednesday night, but there was more than enough room for our group of 4 to sit comfortably without feeling like we were shoved up against people we didn't know. I was very happy with

Surprisingly disappointed.
Our large group came for a friend's birthday celebration. I'll be honest---they do have a great selection of beer and wine. Lots of different options. Kids menu looks great too!
Many of us ordered the community burger. I ordered it because of Nueske's bacon. It's my fave. About 5 of us ordered our burgers Medium. They came out super well done and dry. What a disappointment. Fried shallots were good and bacon was perfect.
Goat cheese puffs were fantastic. Unlimited Mussels on Tuesday. Fantastic. Brussels....not so much. To quote my friend, "

My first visit here was enjoyable. It's a social gathering kind of restaurant. You can bring in a group of friends, a deck of cards, and just drink and eat till your heart's content.
I had the brisket sandwich with greens on the side. It was absolutely delicious. The brisket practically melted in my mouth. My GF and I shared the cheese curds which were probably some of the best curds I've had in Madison.
They have a fantastic selection of beer. About seven on tap, and an entire wall with quite the variety. They also offer discounts on beers to go! (Unopened of course)
I highly recommend this

Girls lunch out. We thought it was a great atmosphere. The long tables are fun and friendly. The food was delicious albeit a little pricey. The frites were good; go with the Green Goddess sauce. The muscles were enjoyed at our table as well as the goat cheese puff pastry appetizers. The crispy goat cheese and beet salad was excellent as well. We were all pleased with our choices. It is a great addition to downtown Middleton.
