Zulma Marquez Zak was born in Manhattan in 1964 and raised in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of 14, she was hired by the local community center to encourage local children and help them become interested and involved in sports, which she successfully accomplished for five years. Zulma started her insurance career in 1984 at AIG in New York and moved to California 1995 to work for an insurance brokerage firm.
