Carolyn Elenich is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist here at Alabama Surgical Associates. She graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics, and also holds further certification in adult weight management. Carolyn is a contributing author of a professional reference textbook, and has over 15 years of dietetic experience.
Macey Sexton is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist here at Alabama Surgical Associates. She earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Dietetics from Alabama A & M University. Her desire to serve others is what inspired her to become a dietitian. Macey has a passion for helping individuals build a healthy relationship with their bodies and food to improve their overall quality of life.

I spoke with the nurse at Alabama surgical associates and explained my medical history with her, she knew about my prior surgery and set up a consult with the Physician. The Dr. reached out and we had a 5 minute phone conversation to inform me I wasn’t really a candidate. They took 150.00 from me when the nurse could have given me the same info the Dr. Did. I called several times and left messages to speak with the office manager to explain I felt like they shouldn’t have charged me 150.00 for a few minute phone conversation for something the nurse should have been able to tell me. This place was nice until the day of my surgery and the following 5 weeks after. I paid for a overnight stay in the hospital and signed the paperwork stating that's what I paid for. They rushed me out of the hospital as soon as they could. The morning after my surgery they called 3 times wanting an additional 4 thousand after already paying the the 11 thousand we agreed on for the surgery and signed the paperwork confirming the price. I could not have asked for a better experience. Dr. Doucette and his team are amazing!! I had my VSG surgery 8/4 and I have lost 83 pounds and counting. I had VSG surgery in August 2021. I first started interacting with the office in October 2020. Amber and the other techs in the main office are so friendly and helpful. I started seeing Dr. Doucette and the dietician (Macey at the time) in November 2020. The guidance and support I received before surgery was outstanding. Dr. Doucette has a wonderful bedside manner, but he is also straightforward and tells it like it is, which honestly is something I needed. I have had a few appointments since having surgery in August and they have all been great. I like that you can also buy vitamins, shakes etc

Dr. Doucette and team saved my life!! It was a hard decision to make but I did it. Alabama Surgical is amazing. I felt like I had one foot in the grave and now I’m in such a better spot medically. I no longer need BP meds and I’m not diabetic. I’ve lost 81lbs and I feel GREAT!!! The staff here have been exceptional and caring. I feel like they are on this journey with me and really wants me to succeed in my NEW life. I’m no longer surviving but LIVING. THANK YOU ALABAMA SURGICAL

I am an out of state, cash paying bariatric surgical patient approaching my one year anniversary of my VSG surgery. Dr. Doucette, RD Caroline and the rest of the team have helped me regain control of my life and my health. I am healthier than I have ever been in my entire adult life. I highly highly recommend this group. The level of care not only with the staff but also the hospital they chose was leaps and bounds better than any care I have received here at home in Indiana. If I had to do it all over again, I absolutely would.
