She attended The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa for her undergraduate degree and UAB for her masters degree as a physician assistant.

Gastric Bypass shrinks the stomach and makes you feel full quicker than before the surgery. Adjustable Gastric Banding places a silicone band around the stomach's upper portion to restrict the opening to your stomach. Gastric Balloon is a 20-30 minute no-surgical procedure where a silicone balloon is placed into your stomach.
The Roux-en-Y gastric bypass is often referred to as simply gastric bypass, and it is often considered the gold standard in bariatric surgery. Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass is another type of combined bariatric surgery that causes both restriction and malabsorption. It reduces the stomach size, but also involves bypassing a portion of the small intestine.

What can I say? I’ve been a yo yo dieter for years only to gain back what I had lost and more. At 231 pounds I didn’t know what else to do. It was getting out of control. And I knew I needed help. I ran into a woman that had the gastric sleeve done by Dr Mailapur and I got intrigued. So I went online and pulled up fantastic reviews on him and his staff. So I set up a consultation with him about 9 months ago. Him and his staff were very professional and very caring. They really do care about your well being. After 3 months of nutrition, follow ups appts leading up to surgery Dr Mailapur performed

I honestly can't say enough about Dr. Mailapur and his staff. I had my sleeve surgery 3 years ago and I look back with zero regrets. Dr Mailapur and his wonder team have been an ongoing support system. You are are no just another patient to them. They honestly care about you and want to help you succeed long term. I knew Dr. Mailapur from working as a nurse at the local hospital. He always treated the nurses and his surgical patients with friendliness and professionalism. I also knew the other surgeons at the hospital regarded his surgical skills highly. So when it came time to choose a surgeon for my weight loss surgery, I did not hesitate to go with Dr. Mailapur. I am so glad I did! His attitude (and that of his staff) is one of supportive professionalism and competence. Dr. Malipur and his team make sure you are ready and we'll educated about the surgery before you get it. One of the best experiences I've ever had in a physicians office, gave me a binder with a ton of information that I studied for months before my surgery, and I still frequently go back and read it even a month after the surgery. Any time I have questions I call the office and always get an answer from his team right away. Very personable and feel like they care. Would highly recommend!

A recent need for surgery led me to Dr Mailapur. I could not be more pleased with my interaction with him and his staff, and with the results of my surgery. In my experience, it is rare to find a Dr that takes the time to really understand the needs and concerns of a patient and apply his skills to meet those needs and concerns. Deciding to have wls is not an easy decision. However, Dr. Mailapur and his office staff have me this process so much better. The entire team has been awesome throughout this entire process. Meeting with Blair(dietitian) helped so much and prepared me with all the tools I needed to be successful before surgery. Jessica and Amber have always answered all of my questions promptly. The office staff was so patient with me after losing my grandfather and switching jobs/insurance they still made time to check in with me so I could stay focused. They also assisted and helped me find a neurologist here

A little over nine months ago I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy by Dr. Mailapur. The experience was fantastic! Dr. Mailapur explained that this surgery is a tool, and I have used this tool to become healthier. I am no longer on diabetes medication, and I am able to hike, camp, horseback ride, and play with my 4 grandchildren. I can even go down a slide and fit into a swing at the playground. I highly recommend Dr. Mailapur and his wonderful team at Madison Surgical Associates! Dr. Mailapur truly cares about his patients!
