Do you sometimes wonder if you're stuck in either a recurring relationship pattern that you know you don't like or an unfulfilling job, and whatever you have tried doesn't quite work? So, you recognize that you're blocked by procrastination, low motivation, anxiety, depression, or low self-confidence that leaves you either reluctant or unable to take risks on your own behalf to make your life better.

Rest assured, there is real help. I am trained in evidenced-based (scientifically researched) psychotherapies and have helped many clients break through internal barriers and learn how to think, feel and behave differently in a shorter amount of time than most traditional psychotherapies. Do you find yourself uncertain about how to best navigate the employment marketplace?

My mission is to help clients break through internal obstacles and develop greater resilience to handle challenges, function at their best, take more risks, and ultimately create more-satisfying lives. New, Winter 2020: Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) Explained, article in the newsletter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, Santa Clara Valley Chapter. Co-authored with Jon Frederickson; Not Just Any Form of Therapy: An Approach for Real Change, an article on Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy for lay public, 2015.
Many of my clients find themselves in dissatisfying relationship patterns, or are longing for a life partner. Others are stuck in unfulfilling work or relationships, or other undesirable life circumstances. These are real-life challenges my clients and I have solved together. In addition, I've helped people overcome procrastination, low motivation, crippling anxiety, depression, emotion-driven eating, and low self-confidence.
As a clinician, do you ever find yourself unsure of how to best respond in the moment to your client's difficulties? We all know how common and frustrating this experience is. Oftentimes, we don't really know what to do, and many therapists attempt to solve this dilemma by "shooting from the hip": hoping what they say to their clients will be productive.
Most of us spend the largest portions of our waking hours at work. Isn't it worth investing some time and energy in the short run to create a more-fulfilling work life in the long run? As a career consultant, I assist and guide clients in career exploration, career transition, and job searches. Career development and transition can be stressful, touching on personal struggles as well as professional issues.
