Alignment - That's what it's all about. When the bones of our skeletal system become misaligned, whether from a traumatic injury or from a lifetime of improper positioning, the result is pain and reduced mobility. But it is pain that can be alleviated and mobility that can be regained. Being mindful of the laws of biomechanics, exercises are prescribed to reposition the skeletal system to it's intended design.
Susan is a Ventura County native and has studied the sciences at several universities, achieving her Bachelor of Science degree from UCSB. She holds a Pilates Mat and Equipment certification from Body Arts and Science International and a Personal Trainer/Restorative Exercise Practitioner certification from The Restorative Exercise Institute as well as a certification from Grounded Aerial Bungee as Instructor.
A totally individualized session focusing on your specific needs and goals. The session incorporates Pilates mat work and exercises performed on the equipment, with a Restorative Exercise influence. Highly suggested for beginners, ideal to improve technique for seasoned clients, perfect for those with unique fitness goals.
One hour private session with Susan assessing posture and alignment challenges, structural issues causing discomfort, to determine realistic personal goals. Three 1-hour private sessions with Susan. Only available to new clients. One time only. It is necessary to take advantage of the Intro Special for a smooth assimilation into a class.

Susan recently re-opened her studio, in compliance with County and State guidelines for gyms. I am very impressed with her commitment to protecting her clients and herself. Having visited a couple of medical facilities in the last two weeks, I can only wish they would be so careful. Susan takes your temperature as soon as you enter her studio, then provides you with hand cleaner, then directs you to areas of the studio that have been rearranged to allow for social distancing. She wears a mask the entire time, and maintains the 6 foot distance. Her equipment is sanitized after every client

I would not recommend Susan Wileman or Restore Pilatesto anyone. I suffered a major injury while working with her because she did not listen and pushed me too far past my range of motion. I tore my medial meniscus, which I will need surgery for. What's worse is that I'm a personal trainer and have a good amount of knowledge on anatomy and the body. If she can push me in the wrong direction I'd be scared to see what she's capable of doing to someone else. She did not apologize for the situation, check in on me after I let her know the MRI results and actually failed to return

I started with Susan after trying to walk with a friend along the Washington, DC, mall. After a short walk, my back and feet were killing me and I asked if we could take a cab home. My friend agreed, but she recommended I look at Pilates to improve my ability to exercise. She was an instructor, but in another state so she offered to check out the instructors in my area. After checking their credentials, she recommended Susan. Three years later, I ran a 10K!
Susan systematically helped me address my alignment and fitness issues. One day, I woke up and realized that my back no longer hurt.

Absolutely the best in the business. Susan Wileman is thoroughly trained and professional without being a humorless drill sergeant. Classes are really fun. She'll challenge you, for sure, but she also knows how to crack a joke, or how to cut you some slack when you're not having your best day. I'm a teacher and recognize a good teacher when I see one. In fact, I've incorporated some of her tactics into my own work. I can't say enough good things about this instructor. You can learn so much from her.
