In homage to the early settlers of the area, the Frederica amenities are reminiscent of traditional Spanish architecture with archways and red tile roofs. Tabby - a mixture of crushed seashells, clay and sand - walls are proven by the area's earliest settlers to stand the test of time. Nearby Fort Frederica, established by General James Oglethorpe, was primarily constructed of Tabby.
