Whenever we are stressed or unhappy, it has to do with feelings, usually of anger, hurt, sadness, fear, disappointment, etc. In order to maintain balanced emotional health, we must do as Dr. Gabe Mate writes. This is the work for all human beings, regardless of however bad or slight you think your symptoms are.
Have you found you are often irritable, impatient, or frustrated for big or small reasons? Is it sometimes difficult to tell the two apart? Are you feeling depressed, but don't know why? Do you have health-related problems like insomnia, headaches, backaches, digestive issues, addictions or heart problems?
You may feel like you are always on guard and hyper-vigilant. Do you experience intrusive flashbacks or imagery of the traumatic events? Maybe you are extremely sensitive to light and sound.
