Like vast majority of the reviews Sally, as GAL always sides with the mother by default.
My son, grandson and I had similar experience. I feel sorry for all the fathers who have her as the GAL, mediator or even child representative. Dads have no chance with her. She only cares about money and looking out for the best interest of the mother, and not the child

Sally is currently a part of my case in Illinois as the GAL for my children. She is intentionally dragging out litigation for billable hours. Her bill is in excess of $10,000 and the most she has accomplished has been a few phone calls with my son. Zero with my daughter. She is now internet infamous for saying it's in her children's best interest to foreclose on my home. I didn't ask for a particular outcome. I've only expected to be treated fairly. She accused me of abandoning my children after I got fed up with going to court in Lake County. Over 100 court appearances. I've begged like a dog

She's not afraid to hide her bias and makes it clear that if you have the means ($$$$) she will work with you and your children.
Is rarely prepared for meetings and extremely disorganized.
Constantly multitasking while you're talking to her and doesn't pay attention.
I could go on about Sally but I'll keep it short. She's an awful lawyer, a horrible GAL, and an even worse person. If you're considering her, stop. If she's assigned to be a GAL for your kids and you're fighting for your parental

How can a lawyer recommend for a child to be taken away from family and friends because she feels the child would be "more comfortable" with a mother who cannot hold a job, is addicted to prescription drugs, and is killing her daughter with second-hand smoke? I thought mediators were to be of the best interest of the child - not the mother?

Sally was assigned by the Court to my divorce case to coordinate the child custody issue. The Court had given me extra time with my children because of my ex moving 50 miles away from my residence without any notice to me or the court just after the Court decided on joint custody. Despite the court awarding me extra time with my children because of my ex being found in contempt of court, and despite the divorce decree saying that I should get even more time with my children in the summer months, Sally changed everything not only taking away my extra court appointed time and extra time in the summer

Please, I'm appalled at these other two reviews. These are apparently jilted ex clients that didn't like doing the work. Sally is truly my highest recommended attorney for any family or friend. She was appointed to my court case by a very highly regarded judge in Lake County, as a GAL. I cannot tell you how she was 100% professional and did exactly as the judge asked. She is prompt and and follows the lake county and Illinois guidelines exactly. She knows her law inside and out. Actually, if you remove the emotional aspect of divorce, which I admit can be difficult but necessary - and get down to the nitty gritty of finding an agreement everyone can live with, I think you will find her to be exceptionally qualified, well respected by the judges and effective in her methods.
