Services
We are Matthew and Lindsey Vrahiotes, the owners and operators of Sweet Acre Farms Winery. After meeting on a blind date while attending Valdosta State University, we quickly fell in love and realized how much we enjoyed spending time together. It become our life goal to find our niche in the entrepreneurial realm that would enable us to work together as a team.
Welcome to our family winery located in the foothills of the Northeast Georgia mountains. We are located just north of Gainesville, GA in a small town called Alto. Elegantly rustic and inviting, you will feel right at home amidst our rusty tin and old wood walls. Plenty of nooks for an intimate getaway or to sit back and relax.

Checked this amazing winery out with my hubby this weekend and it far exceeded my expectations! Loved the selection on their meat and cheese board. We both picked out our own flight. I loved every wine I tasted. They are fruit based wine, something different than your average winery. We ended up buying a bottle of their "Lemonade" wine. Trust me, try it!
We will definitely be back!

Believe the name, this is a sweet wine place or as they call it a fruit wine vineyard. The property used to be a u-pick berry farm that has now transformed in to a luscious oasis of grapes and wine making equipment . The inside has plenty of room but we enjoyed sitting on the balcony with the rocking chairs and looking at the grapes below. The wine was good, we got a semi sweet bottle and had a glass. Just one since glass though since we had to get on the road soon after to head back to Atlanta. It was a very enjoyable stop!

We stopped in this family husband wife fruit winery to sample a glass of their semi-sweet Rose Muscadine. This was formerly an orchard and bee farm and have turned their operation to the only winery in Hall County. The venue is pretty, a nice house with rocking chairs on the porch overlooking the winery. Given these are mostly fruit forward wines they are mostly going to be fairly sweet. We liked the Rose Muscadine and finished the rest of the bottle at home over dinner. Definitely recommend coming here to try them out.

Matt is extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. He will encourage you to enjoy the patio outside or stay inside and enjoy an engaging conversation with Matt.
SAF makes a variety of fruit based wines. They also have a variety of lemon aid based wines that they also mix with fruits like Strawberry, Blueberry, peach and their specialty blackberry.
If you are looking for a place to relax and have fun with some really great and unique fruit wines- this is your place!!

I was in the area visiting Jaemor Farm so I stopped by since it’s not far - glad I did this place is country chic personified. Loved the vibe and wine (it’s made from fruit no grapes are used - works for me). The service was excellent and I ended up taking home 3 bottles. I’ll definitely be coming back for the live music one Saturday. Thanks for the excellent service.

Very cute winery! They offer unique wine options of fermented fruits other than grapes. The tasting room is cozy, I preferred the patio with the rocking chairs. Most of their wines are sweet and I prefer my wine on the drier side but they did have a dry blueberry option that was very good and the service was great.

We stopped at this winery on the way to Helen. We like sweet wines and saw that this winery has a good selection of fruit wines. Due to covid they weren't doing tastings but sold flights to take back to your table. Shared a flight of Bramblin' Sam, Strawberry, Apple, and Nectarine and purchased a cheese plate. Enjoyed all the wines but Bramblin' Sam was our favorite. Would definitely return if in the area.

Great wines and prices with courteous and knowledgeable staff. Unique take on a winery using fresh farm grown fruits, not just fruity muscadine wines like most in the region. For example, their strawberry wine is made with fresh strawberries period. Super fresh and delicious.

Really a cute little operation of wines going on here. All the wine bottles are like personal pets and people that have all participated in the creation of Sweet Acre Winery. We really enjoyed the service and the wines (very sweet). We purchased a couple of bottles to bring home and will have some perfect opportunity to pop open the donkey that is gracing our buffet. Thank you for a fun filled, educational (family history) tasting!!!

This place sets a new standard for customer service! Came in for a tasting and snack. We were greeted immediately and given prompt and friendly service. The young lady who served us was very sweet and spot-on with her recommendations.

The wines are fruit wines and all made with Georgia produce. They run sweet, which is my personal preference. The bar also serves snacks that are priced à la carte. This is a great option and I would LOVE to see other tasting rooms adopt this way of serving. Very low key and you did not pay for more than you can eat or things you do not want.

The property is gorgeous

Amazing fruit wines that were actually good!! The wines actually taste like real fruit, I fell in love with the peach.

Customer service was attentive during our visit. We used a Groupon so the price was a good deal. The outside and inside was beautiful, I loved all the décor. Lots of seating outside on the porch, this makes for a nice weekend getaway with friends.

I cant remember the host names, but we loved her personality and such a great time that day! Of course I bought a few bottles.

Tip: Great roadtrip

A friendly, unpretentious vineyard with a warm, inviting and comfortable tasting room. I loved all the wines and especially the porch overlooking the fields. A rocking chair with a glass of wine and friends makes for great memories and much needed decompression.

Awesome new winery that makes some amazing--change your life -fruit wines! Both Dry and super sweet wines. I love this place and this is coming from a non-wine-lover who drove 4 hours out of the way to get to this winery for the 2nd time this year.

They also carry a really cool cider.
The owner said they are working on a lot of new things including mead (using their own bee hives)!

I found out that all the fruits come from either their own farm or the state of Georgia except for the lemons.

The line of wines called "Quittin' Time" are light, refreshing
