The Hallberg Family Foundation was started in 2000 to support our local community. We focus our attention on the Forest Lake and Wyoming areas, but occasionally we will lend a hand to surrounding areas. In 2020 the Hallberg Family Foundation will provide $40,000 of scholarships to Forest Lake graduates through the Forest Lake Area Community Scholarship Foundation.

If I could give zero stars I would. Yesterday I called and asked if the service department was still taking boats to be winterized. The guy asked what type of engine my boat had, told him an I/O. I asked him about whether it would be stored inside or out until the service was completed since it was an I/O engine. Then I asked if today was a good day to drop it off, he said absolutely. I got the cover on the boat, hooked up and was there 1.5 hours later. When I arrived the gruff lady behind the counter asked what I was there for. I said I/O winterization. She said see the sign here, we are not taking

My experience with Hallberg Marine has been great!
Starting with Stephanie in the sales department. She is very knowledgeable about her product line. We have purchased a pontoon recently from her and a very nice AlumaCraft last year. Stephanie has taken her time making sure we understood every detail.
We would recommend her to anyone we know.
Now to speak of Service Department.
This Department is ridiculously fantastic!
All the guys and ladies have welcomed us to come in at anytime.

Hallberg improperly stored my $62,000 boat.
We bought a brand new, custom built $62,000 Bennington tritoon from Hallberg Marine last summer and picked it up in September, (their sales people, Greg and Jeremy, were great). We keep it dry, covered on a lift, and under a boathouse at our dock. Brought it in for the 20 hour motor service and storage last fall. Picked it up this spring and it was completely covered in dust and mold. Pointed this out to an employee, who said it was the fine dust in the area and could be easily wiped off.

Parts department needs to work on their customer service. I ordered a voltage regulator and after 3 weeks it didn't show up. I ordered one online and had it in two days. I went to pick up my other parts and get a credit for the voltage regulator they couldn't get. And they told me they couldn't return or give my money back on a ordered electrical part. I get that you can't return an electrical part that you've taken home and tried, but they never even took delivery of this part nor did it ever leave the place they order it from. Stephanie is amazing!
She knows everything there is to know about boats and motors.
I was there for an hour and a half buying a new motor and everything that goes along with it.
She took the time to explain exactly what I needed and what I don’t need.
She helped load it into my car, and gave me a firm handshake and welcomed me back anytime.

-Made boat shopping easy at the upfront decision point of sale.
-Stored newly bought boat nicely at their marina until Spring with no extra charge.
-Forgot they were delivering it, scheduled for me to pick up. Charged me even more then to have it delivered.
-No complete operation orientation walk through to fully understand all of the operations of the boat for new boat owners. Got great info from the delivery guy on operation of the boat.
-Didn't supply boat numbers, had to call to get them.
-Stern light is not operable. Getting replacement bulb as I write this review. Will update, if burnt

I had the best experience finding purchasing and receiving my 2020 Benniton pontoon. Andrew Halberg delivered my pontoon, launch it for me drove it into my slip, and put my trailer in our campground parking area. Now that's customer service. I was nervous to drive my new pontoon into the slip because it was a windy day. Andrew made it look like child's play smooth controlled every mintue.
I had a used pontoon for 11 years before I purchased this new pontoon. The steering was awfully. snaps broke off the cover all the time. My family and I were out more in two weeks than I ever did in past season

I bought 2 used boats from HALLBERG this year. Both times were great. No pressure and they are happy to answer all my many questions. Andrew was fantastic. I also went back for service to add a locator. It was done fast and perfectly. I now have my boat there for winter storage. Andrew, Mike and Kimmi are like old friends. Highly recommend.

Not a single employee in the building was masked, despite the mask mandate. Not. One. And every interaction we had, We were treated borderline rudely. Couldn't help but feel they didn't like females, especially not ones who look like my spouse. Others treated way more politely than she was. Really bad customer service. Would not recommend to women customers, or GLBT customers.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & BUSINESS PRACTICES. Killed 3 of my batteries, $519 in damages. Where do I start. I brought me boat to this place last fall, and paid for winterization and storage. When I picked up my boat for this season all 3 new batteries were completely dead because they didn't disconnect them - why else would I pay them to winterize my boat? When i confronted them about this, they admitted they didn't disconnect the batteries and told me they would "get this taken care of." Their idea of taking care of it is $132 dollars. I expected to get my money back

Have been coming here for 4 years. Always an imposition when talking or dealing with service department. Must call then email and hope no one forgets.... again... Each year try to get service or do the start up and there is issues. This is the last year I will come here. Called and emailed to get boat serviced and date for pick up and of course boat isn't ready and hasn't been serviced. Hour and half looking for my boat and finally I had to go find it. Wrong name on the tag.

I am in the market to buy a new boat. I spoke with salesman Randy first who was a nice enough fellow. He quoted me 200 dollars off MSRP on a 2 year old boat. I proposed a counter offer, which he said he would have to confirm with his boss. He called back promptly and said in reality it would only be 100 dollars off when considering tax. I called back and spoke with Denise. Denise proceeded to lecture me on boat models, pricing, and told me to go buy a boat somewhere else. I was polite yet firm and was met with hostility. I bought a used boat pontoon boat from Hallberg Marine and I was very pleased with every aspect of the experience. I saw the boat online and had my Dad check it out in person since I was in Colorado. I wanted a full enclosure made for the boat. They worked with a local canvas shop to get it custom made for me and worked it into the final price. I was able to close the deal over the phone and email. I then drove out to pick it up and everything went very smoothly. They had it cleaned up, serviced and ready to go. I'd to first say that my review is a reflection of the storage program at Hallberg. Hallberg is a huge company. In fact their website states that they are Minnesota's largest boat, pontoon and marine dealer. I don't doubt this as they have multiple buildings in their area. I say area because they have a few blocks of buildings and such in Wyoming, MN. Almost like their won little town.
I've been a boat owner for over 20 years. Anyone that has a boat knows there is maintenance cost and upkeep and we usually only get to use them for about 6 months a year before our water freezes

The worst boat experience I've ever had is from Hallberg!! Save yourself time, money and frustration by going somewhere else. I bought a new pontoon this year, and I shopped around for winterization and storage. Since their prices aren't listed on their website, I called. This place is super unorganized!! I called and asked what the rates are. They turned out to be very competitive, and they do tune-ups and winterization priced by horsepower. The service department said, and I quote "We don't take appointments, it's first come first served" So I looked up their hours

Hallberg is terrible! We are looking to purchase a pontoon. We went to Hallberg on a Saturday. We walked in, looked around for about 40 minutes. No one ever acknowledged us, or asked if they could help us. We then called a few days later looking to get some questions answered. We were transferred to a sales associate's phone, where we left a detailed message, including we were looking to buy. It has been over a week and no one has returned our call. I have stored boats in their inside storage every year for the past 25 years and have found them to provide good service and the boat is always ready for pick up on the appointment day. I have also stored classic cars there over the winter on occasions. It is convenient to have service performed with the storage drop off for a no-stress winterization. And they have a well-stocked water sports and parts department to pick up all the items you may need at the start of a new season. Just read their lease agreement so that you understand how they conduct business and what they are responsible
