At Yamashita Martial Arts, we offer a unique blend of the traditional arts, consisting of "Okinawan Shorin-ryu Karate-do" (Karate) and "Matayoshi Kobudo" (weapons). We also offer the modern, and very intense, style of martial arts known as "Suikendo, " created by Grandmaster Hanshi Tadashi Yamashita (10th degree black belt). Suikendo (pronounced See-kan-doe) is Sensei Tadashi Yamashita's personally developed style of martial arts, and is what sets Yamashita Martial Arts apart from other martial art training facilities. Suikendo combines elements of combat, balance, and agility; it develops strength, flexibility, and a combat alert spirit.
Sensei Tadashi Yamashita is a 10th degree black belt and is the founder and overseer of all Yamashita Martial Arts. With over 60 years of continuous martial arts training, Sensei Yamashita is highly respected and known throughout the world as one of the greatest martial artists of our time; even today his blazing speed and skill set is nothing short of amazing.
As adults, we have spent the last 20-40 years creating habits that we don't even recognize. The way we sleep, eat, how you fold your arms or even cross your legs. Our body's nature, via our brain, is to always take the path of "least resistance", unless we consciously command it otherwise. In other words, If we let our mind make us a "creature of habits" he'll take more time off.

My son and I came here a year ago looking to grow our skills in the martial arts. Renshi Kelly, Shihan Tim and everyone at this studio are doing just that. The studio exudes a family atmosphere, and we are so blessed to be here. This is our "forever home" for karate.

I was always told of the energy here and when Autumn my little Blk belt and I walked in we both looked at each other because we felt it. We both felt love and welcomed when we met with Sheehan Kelly and her family after so many yrs of not seeing them. I'm so glad Autumn wanted to continue to further her Karate goals here. Im so honered that Master Yamashita has such a diverse and loving family throughtout the valley and especially here at Yamashita Temecula. We are home!

Shihan Kelly is an amazing teacher. She has a perfect balance of being positive and fun yet still challenging her student to excel. Our daughter has thrived in this environment and looks forward to each and every class. She has also fostered great friendships here and always feels like a part of the family.

An amazing school. Instruction that appropriately challenges everyone of all levels, but does it with compassion. You feel like you are part of a family and the kids can't wait to learn. Extra classes are almost always packed with all levels wanting more time to learn. We couldn't be happier or more impressed.
