The guidelines have changed! In order to prevent early childhood cavities it is recommended that your child see a pediatric dentist when their first tooth erupts or no later than their first birthday. If your child should have a small cavity or even an infected tooth, Dr. Espinosa will provide the upmost in quality restorative treatment to maintain the form and function of the mouth.

A sealant is a protective coating that is applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, filling in the natural pits and grooves. This creates a barrier between food, plaque, acid, and these cavity prone areas. If your child should sustain an injury to the mouth or experience dental pain, please give our office a call.
Services
Welcome to The Pediatric Dental Office of Dr. Patrice Espinosa. We are committed to providing you and your child with the highest quality of oral healthcare in the most gentle, efficient and enthusiastic manner possible. We pride ourselves on making pediatric dentistry a pleasant experience for our families, while also providing you with the best dental treatment we can offer.
Born and raised in Sacramento, I left the family nest to achieve my Bachelors degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from UC Santa Barbara. Since I was a child I dreamed of becoming a dentist, therefore I was ecstatic to have been accepted into UC San Francisco School of Dentistry.
The guidelines have changed! In order to prevent early childhood cavities it is recommended that your child see a pediatric dentist when their first tooth erupts or no later than their first birthday. This allows Dr. Espinosa to develop a prevention plan unique to your child's needs and family life.
Nitrous oxide, Oral Conscious Sedation, and IV Sedation are different types of sedation offered by Dr. Espinosa to ensure your child's anxiety is eased when visiting the dentist. Patients, big and small, can be slightly nervous for dental treatment, despite previous positive experiences at routine dental check-ups or even a positive treatment appointment.
If your child should have a small cavity or even an infected tooth, Dr. Espinosa will provide the upmost in quality restorative treatment to maintain the form and function of the mouth. Dental caries, known as cavities or tooth decay, is the number one infectious disease of children.

It is not uncommon for children to develop dental decay, especially when primary teeth, also known as baby teeth, are smaller, thinner, less dense or calcified, and children's diets are high in carbohydrates and sugars.Composite restorations: also known as tooth colored fillings, this is a material that can restore teeth esthetically after infection or trauma.

Dr. Espinosa and team are awesome! Everything runs so smoothly and the team is so warm and friendly. Dr. Espinosa explains everything ahead of time and makes sure all questions and fears are addressed. My boys (4 and 7) look forward to going in and love the prizes afterwards. When leaving yesterday my 4 year old said "that was pretty easy!". Pretty good summary!

Dr. Espinosa is so wonderful. She takes her time with my little one (3 years old) to make sure he is comfortable and not afraid before she attempts to do any exam/cleaning. She really understands children and their needs, which helps her connect with them and reassure them. My kiddo always leaves a happy camper with clean teeth, and I could ask for anything more.

Dr. Espinosa and her team provide superb dental care to my three kids. Being a great dental practice isn’t just about attending to dental issues - which they do phenomenally! - it’s also about earning kids’ trust, teaching them self-care, and showing them that good efforts add up over time. I love that my kids love going to the dentist! This office gleams with care in all respects, from the environment (delightful tropical fish, tasteful murals, surgical grade air filters) to the people (you’ll be cared for like family in the best sense). Everything is explained to the patients, as well

Do you have a child that is scared of the dentist, or maybe you are? Would you like to see a pediatric dentist, with an assistant, that are both equally patient, possess a calm and trusting demeanor and just have an overall sweet and positive spirit? Tired of rude front office people and you seek a dental office where the person running the office is kind, professional, (and here is that crucial word again) patient and great with kids? Then run, don’t walk to Dr Espinosa pediatric dental practice. They are over the moon awesome on every level. So thankful I was referred to them.

Dr Espinosa was fantastic. She was so good with my daughter who was nervous about having her teeth cleaned. Her office was also great when my son recently hit his face on the side of the pool. The office had him sitting in her chain in under an hour. They were truly a blessing.

There’s a lot to be said for a calm dental experience and this office provides that. Joe was very helpful and prompt in our communications. I highly recommend this pediatric dental office!

Dr. Espinosa and her staff are super friendly, warm, kind and very caring. It is just an uplifting experience when I took my daughter to visit her office. My daughter was kindly taught how to floss and brush properly. At the end of each visit, the kid was also allowed to pick a little fun item, and my daughter loves the koala eraser. We love Dr. Espinosa and her staff!

Dr. Patrice Espinosa has been our pediatric dentist for almost two years and we couldn't be happier! My twins were 5 years old when we started seeing her and they had been a bit apprehensive when going to the dentist previously. Dr. Espinosa and her staff made them feel so welcome and at ease and made the experience FUN for them! She and her… staff also do an incredible job of explaining each procedure to the kids to make it understandable to them and helps to further ease any anxiety they may have. They actually love going to the dentist now. So, I highly recommend Dr. Patrice Espinosa

Patrice has a way of connecting with children to make them feel comfortable, before she begins the exam. My son (age 9) is very sensitive and has been challenging to take to the dentist. He used to scream and cry. What a difference it has been going to Patrice. Instead of having the kids veg out or trying to distract them with a movie, she talks to them in a way they can understand and helps alleviate fears. She engages them as a part of the process and motivates them to brush and floss without scare tactics. I wish I could go to her!!

Dr Espinosa is wonderful! She took over some pretty hard shoes to fill in following Dr Putman. She is a kid loving, expert pediatric dentist. We love her and drive a few extra miles to continue in her care!

I highly recommend Dr. Espinosa! She took over the practice of a much-loved dentist, Dr. Putman, when he retired. He made a very wise choice in trusting Dr. Espinosa to carry on what he began.
She is great with kids and really knows her stuff. About a year after she took over, we changed insurance companies and were assigned to another dentist… (non-pediatric). We hated to leave, but it made sense financially.
But the story doesn't end there. Many months after we left her practice, my 5-year-old daughter fell and almost knocked out her front baby tooth. The tooth was quite loose, twisted
