Our Dinner Rolls and Deluxe Dinner Rolls are made from our very own Creamy Crust Flax Bread mix. These rolls have a great flavor -- kids of all ages love them! The Deluxe Dinner rolls are made so they do not fall apart when used for lapping up gravy or as a compliment to soups. Their extra-large size encourges slicing for making sandwiches.

I stopped at Gunklels bakery to buy some hamburger buns, but I didn't want alot.
They were so wonderful to make a package up of 6 buns instead of 12. The women that waited went out of their way to be helpful, kind and considerate. They make "real" whipped cream cakes.
I am from Chicago and we are spoiled with our fantastic bakeries. Gunkels is a shining gem. Wonderful bakery!!!!!

I have been going to Gunkel’s bakery for years being an Antigo native. Being a hospital nurse I meet people from all over, the word of these delicious treats 😋 have spread far and wide. Today I met the most sweetest kind beautiful little soul that assisted my little dog and I in the drive thru. God Bless you 🍩

This bakery does wonderful things! We were in need of a birthday cake for a relative. It was so easy to tell them what we needed, and they did it perfectly. The other bakery in Antigo told us that "we don't do that" (a butter cream frosting) and they were not at all seemingly interested in helping out. When we picked up the cake, the bakery had done a wonderful job, to the point of an outdoors theme that was the 95tth Birthday of our relative!
Also we had heard about their doughnuts! We ordered them. They are, and were, the best we have had-including the doughnut shops in Chicago

Nothing surpasses a donut from Gunkel's. They've been supplying pastries for decades and haven't lost their hometown touch. An excellent array of doughnuts, bagels, breads, and pastries keep even the pickiest of critics satisfied. Just be sure to come early, because they are original and not mass producing their bakery items, which means they tend to sell out quickly.

Gunkel's has been Antigo's premiere bakery for some 95 years, rolling out all sorts of carb- and flax-filled yummies. From donuts, bagels, flax seed breads, dinner rolls, buns, Kringle, cookies, eclairs - all is so many fruit and nut varieties - it's hard to pick a favorite. I tried a selection of breads over my visit into this small town, but I think my top faves are the pecan Kringle and the blueberry flax bagel.
