Clearly skilled hairstylists, but both times I went in they didn't seem to have any understanding of what I wanted the cut to actually look like. I didn't like the cut and wanted a change, but they wouldn't work with me to solve the problems I was pointing out. Felt like they just wanted to follow instructions, not actually collaborate and give you a high quality ($42 + tip) haircut.

I've gotten my hair cut twice now and I can say without a doubt Thompson & Co is the BEST hair salon in Iowa City. I have tried around different places for a mens haircuts, but have definiely found the place to be. Have used gone to both Kristen and Ashton and can say I have been thrilled with how my hair turned out both times. For someone that had no idea what they wanted, I can say I absolutely recommend Thompson hands down. In addition to the cut, it's always awesome to talk with Lauren, Bobby and Kayla. If you get the chance stop by to check out the atmosphere they have created in Iowa City

Wouldn’t recommend this place to any guy who doesn’t want a rudimentary haircut. I have gotten my hair cut here a handful of times now and they have missed the mark every time but once. I had a nice girl cut my hair a couple days ago but unfortunately she gave me one of the most uneven haircuts I have ever received. My hair looks so terrible that I needed to schedule another haircut somewhere else to do some damage control.

The place was nice and the workers where nice as well. Went to go get my bangs and she didn’t really go with the picture I showed her but the cut was a nice start. She seemed like she was tired and didn’t wanna be there and did the haircut as fast a she could and was done. I got home and realized how uneven the bangs were. Maybe it was just a busy day and she didn’t notice but i was really expecting a lot more from this place as it was recommended to me by one of my closest friends.😩😐
