K'STAR is a safe short-term youth program for today providing long-term solutions for tomorrow. We are committed to serving the child, the family, and the community. We provide free services to youth and parents who are experiencing difficult living situations or problems with truancy and are a school dropout risk.
Through counseling, compassion, and parenting skills training, we enable families to grow closer and learn to effectively solve problems in an appropriate fashion. Our counseling professionals have more than 75 years of combined experience and work to improve domestic situations throughout the area.

Services
K'STAR Emergency Shelter provides nurture and support for displaced children. Through the practice of Trauma-Informed Care, we start the process of healing the abuse, neglect, and trauma suffered in their early years. Our home can house up to twenty youngsters ages birth to seventeen. Children are placed with us through the Texas Department of Protective Services, Family Tapestry, 2Ingage, and Saint Francis Ministries.
Improve your family dynamic with parenting classes and family counseling. For youth in distress that affects their ability or willingness to attend school, we offer truancy prevention and dropout counseling sessions. It is our goal to help families develop the skills they need to remain together in a safe and loving environment for all involved.
