A psychiatrist is a physician who is devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, study, and treatment of mental behavioral disorders. Psychiatrists are medical doctors, unlike psychologists, and must evaluate patients to determine whether their symptoms are the result of a physical illness, a combination of physical and mental ailments, or strictly psychiatric.
We're committed to providing exceptional care by treating the whole person with science and compassion. Our psychiatrists have a variety of backgrounds and clinical interests, from children and adolescents, to the adult and senior populations. Providing relief and offering hope to those who suffer from treatment-resistant conditions is our top priority.
With 7 locations to serve you, PSYCHIATRY ASSOCIATES of KANSAS CITY (PAKC) gives you the attention and personal service you'll come to expect and enjoy. PAKC is still owned and managed by the physicians and NOT by an insurance company or hospital. Offices in Leawood, Harrisonville, Lee's Summit, Warrensburg, and PsychPros.
We all know the nuisance of suffering from depression. It is frustrating as well as painful. After all, the impact of this mental condition is not just limited to the sufferer but their family and friends also feel the same pain of suffering. Just like any other medication, the psychiatric medication is also capable of producing both beneficial and frustrating results, depending on the patient's condition.

My Doc is phenomenal, I love Erick Brown! However, I have had issues with my prescriptions and I am not able to get in touch with a nurse or have my calls returned. I have had to email the receptionist more than once because I am out of my rx needed for my mental health and it takes days before a problem is resolved. I wish I didn't have to email the receptionist about my medication and there was more organization! Will consider a diff practice unfortunately.

I give this place 0 stars. Dr. Mays’ assistant is awful! I was on a telehealth conference call for 6 hours waiting for the doctor and he never showed. I assumed it was some type of glitch in the system. So I sent a detailed email explaining when I got on when I sent messages to the physician telling him I was still there. She implied I was a liar, telling me the doctor can see everything and I didn’t do any of the things I said I did. It has been a month since my phone conversation with her and I am still extremely frustrated by the lack of professionalism she displayed and just how rude she

Terrible and unprofessional, left on hold constantly, can even make an appointment and when I did I never got confirmation and I called the day before to see where I was going because it used to be online and the phone line was down. They told me that the phone line was down and that I wouldn’t be charged for the missed appointment. Then I was charged for the appointment and served a termination notice. I am in desperate need of medication that I can no longer receive. I have no clue how any of these people got their license.

I hope you don't need help right away. Staff is rude. You can't talk to a person. Drs only use telehealth. I had an telehealth appointment and wanted for the Dr to come on for 15 minutes. I tried 3 times to find out what happened and no one would answer me.

Dr. Brown is great. The 1 star is for the fact that there's absolutely no way of getting a live person on the phone and I have made 3 phone calls and left messages in voicemail for his attendant, I have emailed and DM their Facebook with no response. That's very dangerous for patients especially considering this line of healthcare and medications.

I want to say that this is one of the most inconsiderate and uncaring staff. Their lack of effort in any type of communication or to even help you in general is insulting. I sincerely can not believe that this practice treats patients with so little compassion or pride for work. In short do not go they are terrible.

There's a reason they have such horrible google reviews and a 2 star rating. Everyone, including the doctors, are completely incompetent. Its obvious not one person there cares for you or your mental health, which is what you are there for. If you want your medications to never be sent in or preapproved, to leave several messages to never get a call back, and for the front staff to be rude to you every time you call in than go here, otherwise i wouldnt.

Before becoming a patient, I worked with PAKC for a few years at another location so I have had a professional familiarity with the group as a whole. That was part of the reason that I wanted this particular group of Dr.'s to care for me. I have been a patient of Dr. Hamdani's for the past 4 years, absolutely she is absolutely amazing!!!! PAKC as a whole is a great team of Dr.'s and I would not want to go with any other team for my mental health care.

Was referred here by my doctor 2 weeks. I have called every other day for 2 weeks, and left a voicemail asking for a call back each time. Nobody has ever called me back. Finally, I said, "screw it, I'll just hold until I get somebody." As of now, I've been on hold for an hour, and nobody has answered. Does anyone work here?

My husband has had a horrible time working with his doctor and staff. Dr. Everson has refused to adjust his dosage when it was absolutely needed, and he refused to have prescriptions adjusted and transferred when the medication he was taking was making him suicidal and have panic attacks. Trying to get someone on the phone is practically impossible; we’ve had to wait 48 hours to hear back about an urgent matter because we didn’t have a choice but to leave a message on a machine. My husband feels as if it’s unnecessarily difficult to receive compassion and appropriate treatment from this office
