What is Pilates? Developed by Joseph H. Pilates in the 1920s, Pilates is a method of exercise that emphasizes strength, stretch and control equally in the entire body. Pilates was developed on the foundational belief that the body repairs and strengthens itself through movement. Why is there so much emphasis on the "core"?
If you have never taken a Pilates class before, you can expect to discover muscles you did not know you had by connecting your mind and body to move in new ways. During the first lesson, you will learn the essential principles of Pilates, and with the support of the instructor, discover how Pilates will help you reach your health and fitness goals.
Dragana discovered Pilates while recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident. As she regained her strength and mobility, her belief in and passion for Pilates grew. Having the opportunity to now help others who either struggle with similar issues or simply want to feel stronger has been a gift.
A private session is the most effective way to achieve your fitness goals and maximize your results. We strive to ensure that each session addresses your individual goals and needs. You will receive one-on-one attention that will be tailored precisely to your body and address any injuries or muscle imbalances you may have.
These classes are designed for those new to Pilates, and for those wanting to brush up on their fundamental Pilates skills. You will learn proper set-up of the equipment, body alignment, and pelvic stability while building core strength, flexibility, and elongation of muscle groups. Intermediate classes are great for students who are more familiar with Pilates principles and who want to step up the intensity of their workout.

Five stars are inadequate when describing Dee and the work she does! She guides you through amazing, properly performed workouts. She understands the human body and how to get you in touch with yours. She expertly identifies imbalances and weaknesses. She thoughtfully evaluates your movements to arrive at what’s needed to correct those imbalances and to strengthen. She has also rehabilitated a bad ankle sprain, and helped me regain sensation in my leg after I herniated a disc.
On top of her expertise, she is a truly kind person who is motivated by helping others. I cannot recommend her highly

I have been seeing Dee at Body in Balance for 4 months and I've seen a huge improvement. Dee takes the time to listen and will work with your body gently to get it back in alignment. Pilates training has increased my mobility and is strengthening muscles that my body wasn't using. I highly recommend Dee!

Body in Balance is by far the best Pilates Studio in Milwaukee. Not only is Dragana incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, she also creates an experience that is tailored to my needs and concerns regardless if I am in a group class or in a private. I also appreciate that the group classes are small so I can receive that individual attention. If you are new to Pilates, or even if you are more advanced, Dragana will meet you where you are to ensure you meet your goals. I cannot say enough good things about the studio and my experience there.
