My belief is that therapy can help you gain new insights and a new perspective on how to connect with others, effectively manage stress, and pursue the life you desire. This discovery begins by approaching each concern with an open and collaborative attitude in an environment where thoughts and feelings are safely explored.

Therapy is intensive and difficult at times. However, it is also rewarding and supportive, helping you achieve understanding, improve relationships, bolster self-esteem and encourage personal growth. Below are some areas of specialization.
Services
I hold a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology as well as a Master and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I have over 10 years of experience and have trained and delivered psychological services to a wide and diverse population including children, teens, and couples in multiple settings including the counseling department of multiple elementary schools and at the college level at the California College of the Arts.
Samantha Curiale is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT108261) and holds a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. Samantha has experience working with adults, teens and children facing difficulties related to cancer and chronic illnesses, depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, grief and loss.
There are parts of the self that want to be recognized and connected to. However, what often occurs is that these more sensitive parts are hidden away or overly protected for fear of being hurt. This over protection can lead to isolation in relationships, holding you back from deepening connections to others and to life experiences.
Anxiety & depression isn't something you can just get over. Perhaps you've been telling yourself it will just go away, or that having low energy or racing thoughts is just normal. You shouldn't have to suffer in silence and suffering from depression or anxiety is not a character flaw.

Depression can present in a multitude of ways; feeling tired a majority of the time, lack of focus and a loss of pleasure in activities, or perhaps problems sleeping (too much or too little.)As for anxiety, all of us have worries, but when worries and fear become persistent and you go out of your way to avoid or control situations, that is more than worry, that is anxiety.
All couples have conflict, but it's a matter of how conflict is resolved and repaired that is central to a couples success and happiness. It is my belief that every couple should take preventative measures to solidify their relationship. Ideally, therapy shouldn't wait until your struggles with communication, conflict and problem solving feel beyond repair.
