Our development program includes age-appropriate activities to help develop and enhance your child's intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. Activities shall include large motor skills, small motor skills, language development, music, art and social interaction in a safe, clean, loving environment.

Services
Walnut Grove has a long history of educating and developing loving, enthusiastic, and understanding staff members. We will train and encourage our staff to meet minimum educational goals set by the State of Virginia for child care providers in a licensed center. This minimum training is just the beginning of your child care career!
Walnut Grove of Opal is located on five acres of rolling hills in a park like atmosphere on Rt. 29 South of Warrenton, Virginia. This is a full service child care center. We care for infants to school age children. Our hours of operation are 6:30am to 6:30pm Monday through Friday. The director will provide you with a list of any additional supplies your child might need.
The parents are given a pass code to enter the building or must be buzzed in by the office staff. Security cameras are located outside and inside the building and will be monitored by management. Walnut Grove Academy is organized to provide high quality child care and education. We have made the rooms small for the pre-toddlers and toddlers to have a more one-on-one atmosphere.
In addition to providing a daily loving environment, we stimulate the children's minds with age-appropriate activities to enhance imagination and personal growth. Your child will participate in physical and mental games that encourage positive decision-making skills, social skills, and creativity. As your child grows older, early pre-school programs will support development of numbers and letters as well as daily schedules and routines.
When our daughter transitioned from an in-home nanny to daycare, Walnut Grove's staff made the process smooth. Stephanie, the director, has her finger on the pulse of everything at the center; she's straightforward, easy to reach, and quite clearly cares for all her young charges. Our daughter has quickly grown to love her teacher, Mrs. Nicole, whom she greets with smiles and hugs each morning.

Professional, clean, and loving. The staff and director are absolutely wonderful and you can tell they really nurture the children and care. I am a type A helicopter mom and have been so impressed how this daycare has cared for my infant. They provide a daily report so I know exactly how much he ate and slept and tummy time etc. I call every day and check on my son and they are always so kind about it. We toured almost every daycare in the area and this was by far the BEST. Love love love it!

The teachers and director are very kind and loving with the kids. My kids have progressed through three different classes in the time that we’ve been there and have thrived in each room. We’ve built a strong trust with this school which makes sending our kids to their care easy, knowing they are learning through play and thoughtful lessons.
