Our wine-making starts with wine grape juice, not grapes. There are numerous shops around New Jersey where wine-making starts with grapes. In fairness, that is the complete wine-making experience, close to the actual wine-making process at commercial wineries. One downside of this process is wine must be made in a 60 gallon batch.
This is to limit the risk of making wine from a batch of bad grapes. Another downside, because it's done in a 60 gallon batch, the wine-making requires 9-12 months or more. By starting with wine juice, our wine-making process is completed in about 8 weeks. And it's done in "small batch", namely 6 gallons.

Your Own Winery is an exciting and unique educational and entertainment opportunity for men and women who love wine. We are located on Route 23 North in Butler, NJ, in Morris county, close to Passaic, Bergen, and Essex counties. Your Own Winery is a New Jersey ABC licensed "Wine-Making School". Our shop is an elegant ultra-clean 2,500 square foot wine making space, wine art adorning the walls.
Your Own Winery is a New Jersey licensed wine-making store in Butler NJ (Morris County) (@ Bromat Plaza). Wine lovers come to personally make their own wine in just 8 weeks. 50 wines to choose from. Once you have selected the wine you wish to make, your wine-making begins that same day with the wine juice specific for your selected wine.
The prices below are all-inclusive for our wine making from juice batches, including the wine juice for your selected wine making, all the other ingredients needed to complete your wine making, all the necessary tools and equipment, all the bottles, CUSTOM LABELS and color coordinated foil bottle toppers to complete your wine making, and our personal instruction each step of the way to ensure your wine turns out perfect.
At Your Own Winery, we'll help you create a custom wine bottle label using a favorite photograph or image. And best of all, there is no extra charge for these custom wine bottle labels. Our custom labels are a huge hit with all our wine-makers, adding your custom bottle label to a wine you made yourself - creating your own personal wine vintage.

I was looking for a special way to celebrate my dad’s 85th birthday and this was certainly a great choice! Charlie was friendly and knowledgeable about the different wines available and he explained each step in the wine making process. The best part was WE were part of the process. We chose our wine and mixed our batch following Charlie’s instructions and just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, it did. It was time to bottle our wine! Again we were given instructions each step of the way so WE could bottle, cork, label and heat sealed the foil bottle toppers on each bottle.

We love Your Own Winery! I used a Groupon the first time we went and we loved the experience and outcome so much we went back to make more. Everyone that works there is friendly and knowledgeable. It was interesting to learn how what you're mixing together combines to make the wine and the bottling and labeling is fun too. We will definitely be returning again.

Easy peasy… this was the best option to give wine away at my studio as a thank you gift. I ordered the first set over the phone. When I went to pick it up the service and options got better. I ordered another set before I left. I highly recommend going in to order. You can taste and pick nice fancy labels. I will be back and my models love it!

My friend and I went to Your Own Winery for the second time in the last few years. Our experience both times was so delightful, informative and fun; from the tasting of the different wines to the process and bottling of same. Michele and Charlie couldn’t have been more nicer and helpful. I would definitely recommend Your Own Winery to everyone looking for a good time and of course, the going home with the delicious, finished products. The environment was also very clean and safe, with all Covid precautions in place.

Was looking for something my sister and I could do and came across Your Own Winery. We got to sample and choose what wine we would make, and learned all about the processes the "wine" goes through. More of a learning experience the first visit. The second visit was total fun. Michele made our custom labels and we were shown the bottling process from start to finish...then it was up to us! It was fun and we even had 2 glasses left over to sample. We were warned the wine still had to sit for 3 months and the taste would be grapey but it was amazing. Thank you for teaching us your skills

I recommend everyone to do this at least once or you can be like Doug and I and do 3 batches at once.

We had a wonderful time making our own wine. We were able to taste different wines and make the one that we liked the most. Michele was very nice and accommodating. We were able to learn the science and methods behind making wine and to be able to taste something that we made ourselves was so rewarding. From the wine making to the bottling and the foiling, every process was fun. We felt very safe, socially distanced, and clean. At the end, we had a box full of wine that we cant wait to share with others.

Michele and Charlie were great. My wife and I received this as a Christmas gift from our kids and we totally enjoyed the experience. Everything was explained perfectly from how you are supposed to taste your wine and store it. We did upgrade to a delicious Montepulchiano. We were supposed to bottle it on April 1, but due to Covid-19 we just completed it last week. They were very accommodating and the bottling was a lot of fun. The labels came out perfectly. I would highly recommend them and will definitely return for more wine making.

I first found out about this place when my fiancee got the wedding favors as part of my birthday gift. We ended up picking a red (CMC) and a white (Argentine trio). The process was fun and although labor intensive (I did most of the pouring, whipping, cleaning bottles, filling, corking, heat sealing, and carrying to and from the car), the whole experience was great.
If you enjoy wine and don't like to pay an arm and a leg (a batch of 28 bottles came out on average to half the price I normally pay for a bottle), making your own wine is definitely worth a try!

From the wine tastings to the step-by-step directions, we delighted in every minute. Our photos on the labels came out great and it was fun coordinating the colors for the foils. Delightful and an excellent value. Michele and the team are very knowledgeable, attentive and accommodating. We have made three batches so far and have really enjoyed the wine. Since each batch yields 28 bottles, I was comfortable that a huge investment was not needed and the small batch size also allowed us to make different wines -- Amarone, Barolo and a French Savignon Blanc. There are plenty of other varieties to choose from and Michele even placed a special order on my behalf. If you like wine, this is a highly recommended way to make your own!!!

But as soon as we sampled several of the wines made on the premises, each of them we would have ordered at a nice restaurant, we knew we were in for a great experience.
Michelle and her team have taken the risk out of making good wine. It was a fun experience and we were able to include friends and family in the process. We even got to create a professional looking label thanks to Michelle's layout skills.
We cannot wait to unveil our wine at our Christmas party.

We just finished up our 3rd batch of wine at Your Own Winery. We had such a wonderful experience on the first batch that we decided to make two more. The staff - Michele and Charlie were extremely knowledgeable and guided us through the process. We enjoyed every step in winemaking - especially the wine sampling to decide on what type of wine to brew. You might see us in again for #4.

I went to Your Own Winery to order favors for my guests leave with from a company holiday party. Michele was so amazing at walking me thru my options and gave me prices right away. She was also super accommodating to my lack of communication from my schedule at work.
Our committee went in to the location to actually do the bottling. It was not only a price break, but such a great team building experience. Everyone had a blast!

What a blast!! We hosted my sister bridal shower here over the weekend and we had a great time! The first two sessions wine making sessions were a log of fun. We hosted the shower the day of the final process. Bottling and drinking! It was something a little different. No boring what's in your purse games here! Michele and Paul are great and very helpful. If you want to host something out of the ordinary, I suggest giving them a call!
